Piolo Pascual and Angel Locsin say 2008 is a blessing for both of them

Piolo Pascual and Angel Locsin, two of today's brightest stars, both agree that 2008 has been extremely kind to their respective careers. They are very thankful for the success of their team-up in top-rating teleserye Lobo for it paved the way for their highly anticipated movie Love Me Again : Land Down Under.

For her part, Angel considers 2008 quite a year. It was this year that she took a great risk transferring networks and established herself as a Kapamilya star. Kris Aquino even recalled during Angel and Piolo’s interview on The Buzz yesterday that the young actress even introduced herself on ASAP ’07 for the benefit of The Filipino Channel subscribers who weren’t familiar with her. But now, Angel has attained a following not only in the country but in several TFC subscribers around the world. Angel is very grateful for everyone’s support. She and Piolo met avid fans in Australia where they shot some scenes for Love Me Again.Angel and Piolo treated them to dinner and the actress was overwhelmed by their welcome. "Actually nagugulat ako kung gaano sila (subscribers) mag-alala sa mga artista ng ABS-CBN. 'Yung respeto and care na binibigay nila sa mga artista," she exclaimed.

The actress also said that a part of this year’s blessings is having two nominations at the Star Awards for Television."Masaya po ako ngayon kasi mamaya pupunta po ako sa (PMPC) Star Awards (for Television). Na-nominate po ako nang dalawa para Best Actress," she explained. "Masaya na po ako. Di naman po ako nage-expect na (manalo). Naalala ko lang na nag-promise po ako na simula ng pag-transfer ko dito, pagbubutihan ko ang trabaho ko." She said that her efforts and hard work to become a good actress were all not in vain.

Meanwhile, Piolo said that things are still getting better for him. Adding to Lobo’s success was his launching of his own perfume and clothing line courtesy of Bench. "Ito 'yung year na pinakamarami akong endorsements," he enthused. And because Love Me Again: Land Down Under will be premiering in the US, Piolo feels he is very lucky to be able to spend Christmas with his son and relatives there. "It just gets better by the year. Talagang wala akong masasabi, talagang napakabait ni Lord sa akin," Piolo said.

Making Philippine movie history, Love Me Again: Land Down Under is the first local film to be shown outside of the country. Piolo and Angel will be attending screenings in Los Angeles (December 6) and San Francisco (December 7). Directed by Rory Quintos, the film will be Star Cinema’s opening salvo for 2009 and will be shown in theaters January 15.
