Piolo Pascual treasures moments with Angel Locsin
ON television, Angel Locsin and Piolo Pascual were seen in the teleserye Lobo. It was their first team-up and whether it rated well or not, it was awarded by the PMPC as the best primetime show. Piolo was also awarded best actor for the same show. Also the 12 volumes of DVDs of Lobo are the year’s best-selling TV series on video with over 60,000 units sold.
Now comes “Love Me Again,” their first movie together and the countdown begins.
Will it become a potential hit like Star Cinemas filmfest entry “Ang Tanging ina Nyong Lahat?”
Can Lobo be an indicator of their success as a loveteam?
Are movies partly filmed abroad (Dubai, Caregiver and For the First Time) a big come-on for the movie goers?
Then there is Rory Quintos, a no nonsense and award winning director at the helm. Will she be able to pull the interest of the audience as well as critics who always blame a movie for its faulty storyline?
Whenever stars are interviewed when promoting a movie, the overused statement “pinaghirapan po namin ito at pinagpaguran at ginawa ang lahat para ito mapaganda” echoes all over the presscon venue.
Do we hear Angel Locsin saying the same thing about “Love Me Again?”
On the otherhand, Piolo treasures the bonding he experienced during filming in Darwin, Australia.
“It was my first time to go to the Australia Northern Territory. Outback. Kahit saang lugar ka tumingin walang tao. Kami lang. At worst, mainit. Ang pinaka-shade namin ay mga puno. It was so barren but what is nice about it tulung-tulong. I’ve done movies abroad makikita mo talaga camaraderie ng crew, ng staff. Si Angel nagbubuhat ng mga gamit. The usual Filipino bonding. Talagang tulungan. One thing I appreciated was ‘yung mga Australians na tumulong sa amin. Napamahal sila sa amin kasi sinasabi nila napakaganda makisama ng Pinoy.”
As far as direk Rory Quintos is concerned, this is the greatest bonding experience she had with her actors especially with Piolo with whom she had worked before.
“He is very very talented and I got to see him at his rawest form when the world is not looking. What I like about Angel naman is she’s so open to learning and I appreciate very much the trust that she gave me as the diretor.”
“Love Me Again” opens nationwide in more than 100 theaters this January 14.
