Jay-R Siaboc updates
THE past year (2008) was a good year for Jay-R Siaboc who emerged first runner-up to Yeng Constantino in the first Philippine Dream Academy (PDA). He had his first solo concert and had his first album, dalawang pangarap na kay tagal niyang minithi.
He appeared in one teleserye after another: Komiks Presents: Kapitan Boom (where he played the alter-ego ni Jon Avila, who played the title role), Your Song, Patayin Sa Sindak si Barbara and Pangarap Na Bituin.
Then, in the last two months, para bang his luck came to a halt.
Ang maulanan siya ng snow would be a bonus.
Nabigyan daw ng katuparan ang pangarap na ito ni Jay-R when he vacationed in the U.S. with girlfriend, Iris Fullerton, who is half-Filipino and half-American. Pinay ang kanyang ina.
Iris, who was herself a runner-up sa PDA, didn’t leave the country after the PDA, as she was kept busy with many, wika nga, “rackets” here.
She had to go back to the U.S. dahil pinakiusapan siyang bumalik ng kanyang ina, dahil nagkasakit ito. But on February 18, ayon kay Jay-R, nasa ’Pinas na raw ito ulit.
Nag-decide daw si Jay-R na sumama kay Iris, lalo’t when Iris’ mom offered to pay half his fare.
Jay-R turned 22 last January 21.
Starting on February 8, where he is scheduled to do a show sa Metropolis, Alabang, magiging very busy na uli si Jay-R.
On February 20, sa San Mateo, Rizal, naman siya magsu-show.
Anytime now, Jay-R will start taping for Komiks Presents: Sanlakas where lahat ng “superheroes” na itinampok sa kani-kanilang shows ay pagsasama-samahin: Vhong Navarro (Lastikman); Jon Avila (Kapitan Boom); John Prats (Tiny Tony); Mariel Rodriguez (Varga); Dragonna (Shaina Magdayao) and Luis Manzano (Flash Bomba).
