Journey concert in Manila March 14
Fresh from its much-hyped Super Bowl pre-game performance beamed to audiences worldwide, Journey will perform in a one-night gig at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds on March 14, Saturday.
It’s the premium fashion label Mossimo which is infusing the local concert scene with this wattage enough to power the band-crazed metropolis.
Performing are Journey mainstays Neal Schon (guitars), Jonathan Cain (keyboards), Ross Valory (bass) and Dean Castronovo (drums) — with, of course, our very own Arnel Pineda, the group’s new lead vocalist. It’s the Journey’s first performance in Manila with Arnel, after the group’s hit European and US tours.
Filling the shoes left vacant by Steve Perry, Arnel, who was discovered by Schon via the YouTube, never fails to insist that “there’s only one Steve Perry and breathing new life to Journey’s legendary sound means a lot of hard work on my part.”
Arnel is featured in Journey’s newest certified-platinum album Revelation (the group’s 11th album), in which Arnel’s vocal range is put to a test which he passes with flying colors in such tracks as Only The Young, Don’t Stop Believing, Open Arms and Separate Ways.
Journey’s Manila concert is a Mossimo Music and Music Management International presentation supported by SM Mall of Asia, SM Supermalls, Asia Brewery, Smart, Goldilocks and Methathione.
Tickets to the concert are available at popular prices at any Mossimo store in Metro Manila. Or call Ticketnet at 911-9999. Up for grabs are limited edition Mossimo-Journey Entourage Kits that include two gold tickets, a Mossimo cap and gift certificates as well as the much-coveted “meet-and-greet” pass.
