Kim Chiu is overwhelmed by the support and loyalty of her fans

Lubos ang success na tinatamasa ngayon ng Pinoy Big Brother first Teen Edition Big Winner na si Kim Chiu. Sobrang busy ngayon ang schedule ni Kim dahil kaliwa’t kanan ang kanyang mga proyekto. Sa ngayon, ginagawa na ni Kim ang next teleserye niya with onscreen partner Gerald Anderson at Kris Aquino, ang Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo. In the works na rin ang second solo movie nila ni Gerald, ang Paano na Kaya due next year. Kakaibang Kim naman ang mapapanood sa pelikulang I Love You, Goodbye na official entry ng Star Cinema sa Metro Manila Film Festival this Christmas.

Ayon nga kay Kim, isang malaking career move ang ginawa niya sa pangtanggap sa role niya sa I Love You, Goodbye. “Kahit ako nagdalawang isip ako kung tatanggapin ko ito o hindi kasi natatakot talaga ako na sobrang maldita. Galit siya sa lahat ng bagay, eh. Hindi ko naman laging ginagawa ‘yun,” ani Kim. Kasama ni Kim sa pelikula sina Angelika Panganiban, Gabby Concepcion, Derek Ramsay, Angel Aquino, Matet de Leon, Ces Quesada, Joem Bascon, Chris Villanueva, Ketchup Eusebio and Janna Domingo sa ilalim ng direksyon ni Laurice Guillen.

May nagsasabi ring malaki ang tsansa ni Kim na manalo ng best supporting actress para sa nasabing pelikula subalit tumawa lamang ang aktres at sinabing malaking milagro ito kung mangyari man. Pero isa lang ang sigurado ng aktres, at ito ay ang libu-libong nagmamahal na fans sa kanilang dalawa ni Gerald. Kim is really grateful to the fans who support her ang Gerald tirelessly. Na-overwhelm din si Kim sa turnout ng text votes nang madeklara siyang Pop Cover Girl habang si Gerald ang nahirang na Pop Pin-up Boy sa ASAP Pop Awards. Anne Curtis on Angel Locsin: ‘We are closer and more comfortable with each other’

Anne Curtis is glad to establish a strong bond with Angel Locsin after putting up the online auction for a cause, Shop and Share. Even if they have known each other years ago, it is just now that they became really close. Anne is proud to say that it feels great to develop a friendship with someone while working on a substantial project to help other people. In the process of having had to work on the website, Anne said that she and Angel would get to talk about personal issues in their lives. “Of course hindi maiiwasan ‘yon, we got closer together and got more comfortable with each other and that’s how we bond,” she explained.

Anne refused to elaborate though when asked if Angel had opened up to her about the former’s breakup with Luis Manzano, who also happens to be Anne’s best-friend. The Fil-Australian actress said that she and Angel just try to enjoy each other’s company whenever they are together. “I think more than anything, when you’re in good company nakakalimutan mo na naman ‘yon,” she said.

Anne and Angel, with other celebrities, continue to promote Shop and Share to raise funds for flood victims, and they are all happy with the successful turnout of their project. “I really didn’t have any expectation talaga,” she beamed. While she is busy with her career, Anne said that she intends to continue to do her part for Shop and Share. “Basta inspired. Hindi mo na naman naiisip ‘yung pagod eh kahit na 4:30 ng umaga na kami natatapos. We don’t give up on that responsibility. Go pa rin kami. Hindi naman namin pinapabayaan ‘yung trabaho namin. I think because we’re inspired. Kina-career talaga namin.”

Dolphy, ’di pinayagang magbiyahe

Para kay Eric Quizon, wala pa ring papalit sa kanyang amang si Dolphy bilang Comedy King dahil nag-iisa lang daw ito talaga.

“Nobody can take his place. Maybe, somebody will emerge and probably make it on mark, but nobody will replace him,” say niya.

Bukod dito, ayon kay Direk Eric, kung siya raw ang papipiliin, he prefers working with his father than any other actors we have hindi lang dahil sa ama niya ito kungdi napakadali raw nitong katrabaho.

“Yes, there are lots of good actors but my dad is one of the probably easiest actors to work with. And one of the best pati. I mean, hindi ko ito sinasabi dahil tatay ko siya, but masarap siyang katrabaho at madali.

“I’ve worked with actors na hindi mo masasabing. . I mean, not in the same stature (as his dad’s) pero mas maarte pa,” pahayag pa ng direktor.

Nang tanungin siya kung sinu-sino ito, ang say niya ay hindi na raw siya magne-names pa at nagkatawanan na lang.

Magkasama kasi ulit ngayon sina Mang Dolphy at Eric sa pelikulang Nobody, Nobody But Juan na isa sa official entries sa Metro Manila Film Festival this December, kung saan, ang Comedy King of course ang bida at ang huli naman ang direktor.

Part ng pelikula ay sa U.S. pa kinunan and since hindi na pwedeng bumi-yahe ang kayang ama, inamin ni Eric na hindi niya naisama ang ama although sa kuwento ay sa Amerika ito naninirahan.

“Kaya ’yung interior shots ni daddy, dinaya ko na lang. Pero ’yung exterior, talagang nag-shoot ako sa U.S., four days akong nag-shoot du’n. Pero ’yung mga eksena ni daddy, dito lang ’yun, kasi nagkasakit siya.

“Hindi siya pinayagan ng doktor niya na bu-miyahe. Talagang may sulat sa akin, ‘no, you cannot put your dad’s health at risk.’ So, ako talaga, ‘okay’,” kuwento ni Eric.

As we all know ay may napakagandang trabaho si Eric sa Hong Kong bilang direktor/producer sa isang production company doon na nagpo-produce ng mga shows at nag-leave lang siya para gawin ang Nobody, Nobody But Juan. Marami na siyang tinanggihang directorial offers ng GMA-7 since busy nga siya sa kanyang work abroad.

Pero next year daw ay baka maluwag-luwag ang schedule niya at makatanggap siya ulit ng proyekto dito sa atin dahil nami-miss na rin naman daw niya ang local showbiz.

’Katuwa si Kris Aquino sa filing of candidacy ni Sen. Noynoy Aquino. Tinawag nito sa stage ang GF ng kapatid para raw matapos na ang tsismis na ’di niya ito gusto para sa kapatid. Sa harap ng supporters nina Sen. Noynoy at Sen. Mar Roxas, pinag-promise nito si Shalani Soledad na aalagaan si Sen. Noynoy at nang mangako si Shalani, sabi ni Kris, “I will love you forever.” Ha-ha-ha!

Masaya ang filing of candidacy nina Sen. Noynoy at Sen. Mar sa Comelec dahil present si Gov. Vilma Santos bilang suporta sa husband niyang si Ralph Recto na kakandidatong senador sa Liberal Party. Bumuhos din ang suporta ng mga showbiz personalities like Marian Rivera, Dingdong Dantes, Gretchen Barretto, Lucy Torres-Gomez, Mother Lily, Coco Martin, Erich Gonzales, Kim Chiu at Enchong Dee.

Tuluy-tuloy pala ang taping ni Kris ng Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo dahil gustong kundi sa January 25, 2010 ang airing na birthday ng inang si Mrs. Cory Aquino ay before her birthday sa February 14 ang pilot ng bago niyang soap para birthday gift niya sa kanyang fans.

Aga Muhlach and Angel Locsin, movie update

Finally, Star Cinema has found an ideal concept for a movie co-starring together for the first time Aga Muhlach and Angel Locsin.

The concept is from the brilliant mind of ABS-CBN unit head Enrico Santos, and will have noted and award-winning Director Olive Lamasan.

Direk Olive’s last directorial job was the critically acclaimed Governor Vilma Santos-Luis Manzano-John Lloyd Cruz starrer, In My Life.

While the yet untitled flick is Angel’s first time na makatrabaho si Direk Olive, it’s the second naman on the part ni Aga. They have worked together in the movie, now considered a classic Sana Maulit Muli, which also starred Lea Salonga.

Sana Maulit was filmed in its entirety in San Francisco, California.

“I have always hoped na makatrabahong muli si Direk Olive,” ani Aga. “She is one of the best directors I have worked with.

“In the case of Angel, I heard she is an angel to work with. I can hardly wait to start shooting for the movie.”

Meantime, though, Aga has yet to finish shooting for his reunion movie with Regine Velasquez, Viva Films tentatively entitled Umboy and Berns directed by Joyce Bernal.

The film is earmarked for a January release.

What would aga think is the highlight of the movie? He was asked.

“Well, siguro, ’yung kissing scene namin,” he replied smiling. “According to Regine kasi, iba siya kung humalik ngayon, compared to when we did out two previous movies.

“Kasi naman noon,” Regine, who overheard Aga’s answer, cut in. “Naïve pa ako sa kissing and love scene. Unlike ngayon, when masasabing seasoned na ako. And I don’t have to tell everybody why.”

In any case, Aga and Regine’s last two films together, Dahil May Isang Ikaw and Ikaw Lang which were both blockbusters, also had Joyce Bernal for director and produced din by Viva Films.

Claudine Barretto, ungrateful?

CLAUDINE Barretto, a homegrown ABS-CBN star and talent, has signed a two-year contract with GMA 7.

Claudine narrated that originally she only planned to make a movie co-produced by GMA Films and Viva Films. However, developments went fast so that she soon found herself signing a contract with GMA 7, witnessed by her husband, Raymart Santiago, and parents Mike and Inday Barretto.

What made Claudine transfer to GMA 7? Does she feel neglected by ABS-CBN? Does ABS-CBN find her no longer bankable?

And now that Claudine has officially joined the other Kapuso stars, would she indeed find the grass greener so to speak in her new home network?

Would she still be able to demonstrate her crowd-drawing power and show ABS-CBN that she still has what it takes to make movies that would perform well in the box-office? Would the moviegoing public take it as an ungrateful act on Claudine’s part?

In another first, ANC, the ABS-CBN News Channel, will bring together key presidential candidates in a face-off a day after the deadline for the filing of certificates of candidacies.

Former President Joseph Estrada and Senators Noynoy Aquino and Manuel Villar are among the presidential candidates who will join Harapan: The ANC Presidential Forum on Wednesday, Dec. 2, at the University of Santo Tomas (UST). The others who are expected to attend the forum are former Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro, former Public Works Secretary Hermogenes Ebdane Jr., Angeles City councilor JC De los Reyes, and environmentalist Nicanor Perlas.

Lea torn between Kapuso & Kapamilya

As part of the promo for Lea Salonga’s (photo) show Lea Salonga...Your Songs slated for Dec. 11 and 12 at the PICC Plenary Hall, the PR of the project arranged for Lea to guest on today’s edition of the GMA noontime show S.O.P. Fully Charged.

The show producer readily agreed. Lea started rehearsing for her production number with some star-guests.

Lights, camera, action?

Not just yet.

Just when everything was set, the S.O.P. guys learned that somebody else (not the PR) scheduled Lea also today for the same promo on ASAP ’09, the noontime show of rival network ABS-CBN. Naturally, the S.O.P. guys said, “Ha? Wait a minute...”

Very clearly, you can’t, so to speak, kill two birds with one stone, not in this manner anyway.

Since she can’t be both, which will Lea choose, Kapuso or Kapamilya?

We’ll find out by and by.

Will Charice beat Whitney in Oprah poll?

Charice is competing with Whitney Houston, The Black Eyed Peas, Michael Buble, Journey, James Taylor and others for Best Show Musical Performance 2009 in the Oprah Winfrey show.

Oprah nominated Charice on the strength of her performance of Note to God,which reached the top 10 and raced to the top 10 downloadable songs on iTunes and amazon.com after the song debuted on the show.

“Ipapa sa-Diyos ko na lang `to,” Charice replied when asked what her chances of winning the polls are. But she doesn’t hide the fact that she won’t mind topping the poll just the same.

“I do hope people nominate me,” she said.

Charice arrived form Los Angeles last Saturday to promote Sennheiser’s Charice International Limited Edition evolution 822 S microphone.

Grace Mendoza, who manages Charice’s career in the Philippines together with Charice’s mom Raquel said the representative from Sennheiser Asia (Singapore) and Audio Video Solutions Corp. (Philippine distributor of Sennheiser) went out of his way to look for their newest endorser since they really had Charice in mind for the said product.

Martin Low, Vice-President of Sales and Marketing, Sennheiser Electronic Asia says the company produced only `very limited quantities’ of the microphone, which they hope Filipino singers can identify with.

Thus, Charice joins the ranks of international celebrities like Celine Dion and Beyonce, whom Sennheiser has supported in their shows and other projects.

Thanks to her latest endorsement and her other projects, Charice was able to build a house for her family in Tagaytay. The spacious house is a far cry from her humble home in San Pedro, Laguna.

Charice was also able to buy a vehicle which put a stop to her van-renting days of old.

The 17-year-old singer also invested part of her earnings in a Coogan account, a special bank account popular among celebrities who are not yet of legal age and thus cannot assume control over their money yet.

Charice can avail of the account next year, when she turns 18, but vows that “I won’t use all of it.”

Meantime, Charice says she knows how her friend Rhap Salazar is feeling, now that Ellen Degeneres invited the 12-year-old singing champion to perform in her TV show.

“I see myself in Rhap,” she explains. “My advice to him is that he will experience difficulties at the start . Intrigues will be there.”

Charice will release her new song, Pyramid in Jan. 1, 2010 and her new album in February.

Erich Gonzales, minaliit ni Ejay?

Kalat na kalat ngayon sa ABS-CBN compound ang isyung masamang-masama ang loob ni Erich Gonzales sa leading man niya sa Katorse na si Ejay Falcon.

Isang malapit kay Erich ang nagkuwento na diumano, ipinagkakalat ni Ejay na kung hindi dahil sa kanya, hindi sisikat ang young actress.

Ipinagyayabang din daw ni Ejay na siya ang dahilan kung bakit mataas ang ratings ng Katorse.

Ayon sa source, nakarating lahat kay Erich ang mga diumano’y pinagsasabing ito ni Ejay kaya napaiyak ang actress sa sama ng loob.

Timing na nang pumutok ang nasabing tsismis, may birthday presscon ang Star Magic for November celebrators at isa rito si Ejay kaya naitanong sa kanya ang tungkol dito.

Kung pagbabasehan ang reaksyon ng young actor nang tanungin tungkol dito, parang wala siyang kaalam-alam dahil gulat na gulat na may ganu’ng issue at parang natulala pa nga.

“Ano ba ’yan?” tanong niya, “sobrang hindi po totoo ’yan, ba’t naman...ako? Sino ba naman ako, ito nga lang ’yung kauna-unahang project ko sa ABS-CBN, tapos ganu’n? Talaga? Wala po akong sinasabing ganu’n.”

Hindi rin daw totoong kaya sumikat si Erich ay dahil sa kanya.

“Grabe naman, baka baligtad po, baka kung hindi dahil kay Erich, hindi ako sisikat,” he said. “Ang Katorse po talaga, kay Erich talaga ’yon,” dagdag pa niya.

May issue rin na ipinagyayabang din daw niyang Big Winner siya kaya ganu’n.

“Eh si Erich din naman po, big winner din,” say niya.

Matatandaang nanalo si Erich sa Star Circle Quest noong 2005 at mas nauna pa siya kay Ejay, na Big Winner naman ng Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus last year.

Ang tsika pa ng source, hindi magkasundo sina Erich at Ejay ngayon sa set ng Katorse. Itinanggi ito ng young actor.

“Talaga? Hindi magkasundo? Magkasundo naman po kami, okay naman po kami,” say niya.

May panahon nga raw na pinapayuhan pa siya ni Erich kapag may problema siya sa bahay.

“Wala po talaga kaming away,” say niya.

Hindi raw niya alam kung bakit may mga ganitong issue at ang mensahe na lang ni Ejay sa mga tao, huwag naman daw siyang sirain.

“Nagsisimula pa lang po ako, pinababagsak n’yo na. Huwag naman pong puro nega. Hindi naman po ako ganu’n,” pagtatapos niya.

Anyway, nag-celebrate si Ejay ng 20th birthday last Nov. 21 at sinorpresa raw siya sa set ng Katorse.

Kinantahan daw siya ng cast, binigyan ng cake at nagkaroon pa ng kaunting kainan.

Pinoy Got Talent auditions

Hindi nauubusan ng mga Pinoy na may kakaibang galing. Naglibot ang grupo ng Pinoy Got Talent sa buong Luzon at Visayas, at infairness ang dami raw nagpakitang gilas.

Dinumog daw kamakailan ang isinagawang auditions sa Batangas, Baguio at Cebu ng pinaka­bagong nationwide talent and reality show ng ABS-CBN.

Nagpasiklaban din daw ng talento ang mga taga-North, Central, at South Luzon pati mga taga-Visayas regions na may kanya-kanya pang baong gimik para lang makalusot sa unang round ng kumpetisyon at mas mapalapit sa tsansang manalo ng P2 milyon jackpot.

“Kahit kami nabigla sa mga kayang gawin ng Pinoy. Yung akala mo walang ibubuga sa unang tingin, yun pa yung nagpa-wow talaga sa amin,” kuwento ni executive producer ng programa na si Rancy Recato.

“May kumanta, sumayaw, tumugtog ng instrumento, nagsagawa ng mga makapigil hiningang stunt at meron din gumawa ng nakakaaliw na acts tulad ng paglaro ng trumpo, pagturo ng dog tricks, atbp. Maging mga lolo at lola na nasa 60 anyos mahigit ay hindi rin nagpahuli kasabay ng mga chikiting na kahit apat na taon pa lang ay nagpapamalas na ng galing.

“May mga sumali rin mula sa mga katutubong grupo tulad ng mga Badjao, at kahit may mga kapansanan ay nag-audition din. Bukas talaga ang PGT sa lahat, basta may talentong maaring ibahagi sa buong mundo,” sabi naman ng production manager na si Morly Nueva.

Unang pinatunayan ng single mom na si Madonna Decena na ang mga Pinoy ay sagana sa talento nang maging semi-finalist siya sa pinaka-popular na bersyon ng Got Talent na Britain’s Got Talent noong 2008.

Namangha ang UK sa kanyang talento at maging ang kinatatakutang hurado na si Simon Cowell ay napahanga niya. “For that one act, it was worth coming up here,” sabi ni Simon.

Ngayon pa lang ay excited na excited na ang 33-year-old singer sa pagdating ng Pilipinas Got Talent para mabigyan na rin ng pagkakataong makilala at sumikat ang iba pang Pinoy.

“Alam nating napaka-talented ng mga Pinoy. Sa pagkanta pa lang hindi ka na makakapili, paano pa kaya kung pati pagsayaw at iba pang uri ng talento kasama hindi ba? Tiyak mahihirapan ang mga judges nito,” paliwanag ni Madonna.

Zanjoe Marudo, praised in Lovers in Paris role

Sobrang flattered si Zanjoe Marudo sa mga papuring tinatanggap niya dahil sa pagganap niya bilang Martin sa Lovers in Paris. Sa nasabing serye kasi ay pinatunayan nang husto ng dating PBB housemate ang lalim at husay niya bilang isang aktor at pwede pala siyang makipagsabayan sa mga magagaling nating artista lalo na nga sa co-star niyang si Piolo Pascual.

Sa thanksgiving dinner ng LIP ay grabe ang papuri kay Zanjoe ng kasamahang si Mark Gil, gayundin ang direktor nilang si FM Reyes.

Sobrang thankful naman ni Zanjoe at say nga niya, kaya naman niya ito nagagawa ay dahil din sa mga taong ito.

“Siyempre, hindi ko naman ito magagawa kung hindi rin dahil sa kanila. Actually, sobrang na-challenge talaga ako sa role ko, sa character ko bilang si Martin na ka-love triangle nga ni KC and Piolo.

“Ang challenge sa akin doon is kung paano ko mapapa-work ang character bilang ka-triangle nga nila. Dapat ma-confuse ang tao kung sino ang gusto nila, kasi ’yun naman talaga dapat ang triangle eh, dapat ‘yung manonood, maguguluhan kung sino talaga ang gusto nila para du’n sa babae,” say ni Zanjoe.

Sa serye ay grabe ang kamartiran ng character ni Zanjoe at kung paano siya magmahal na aniya, ‘yun nga raw ang naging proble-ma niya at first dahil napakalayo ng karakter niya sa kanyang real self.

Ang ginawa raw niya ay pinag-aralan niya talagang mabuti ang karakter and good thing, magaling din daw talaga ang direktor nila at pati na mga co-stars niya.

May mga komento ngang may mga pagkaka-taong nasasapawan na niya si Piolo pero say naman ni Zanjoe ay wala namang ganu’n at sobrang hanga nga raw siya sa aktor dahil hindi ito maramot.

“Piolo Pascual is Piolo Pascual of course. And actually, natutuwa nga ako, actually, hindi lang ako, pati na rin ’yung ibang tao, sa suportang ibinibigay niya sa amin. Pinapabayan niya ako na masg-shine, pinapabayaan niya ako na gawin ang gusto ko, kung moment ko ito, moment ko ito, minsan nga, kahit moment naming dalawa, binibigay pa rin niya sa akin.”

Ano naman ang sabi sa kaya ng girlfriend niyang si Marielle Rodriguez sa kanyang acting? Nagalingan din ba ito sa kanya?

“Ah, si Marielle naman, simula pa lang, fan ko na siya, eh. Bilib na sa akin talaga ’yun. Kasi kahit pangi ang gawin ko, para sa kanya, maganda pa rin. Lagi siyang proud sa akin at laging maganda ang lahat ng ginagawa ko para sa kanya. Yun naman ang maganda sa kanya,” nakangiting sabi ni Zanjoe.

Ano naman ang masasabi niya na maging ang Megastar na si Sharon Cuneta ay pabor sa Martin-Vivian romance sa serye?

“Ah, di siyempre, masaya, na at least may sumuporta sa Martin-Vivian na kapamilya ni KC. Ibig sabihin, boto sa akin ang nanay niya. Ibig sabihin, puwede pala ako pumasa kay KC,” sambit pa ng aktor.

Kahapon ng umaga ay nakatanggap kami ng text message mula sa manager ni Angel Locsin na si Becky Aguila mula sa New York kung saan ginanap ang 37th International Emmy Awards.

“Julie Walters won,” ang maikli niyang mensahe.

Ang nasabing akres ay isa sa mga nakatunggali ni Angel bilang Best Actress sa nasabing award-giving body para sa seryeng A Short Stay in Switzerland ng United Kingdom.

Si Angel naman ay nominado para sa kanyang seryeng Lobo ng ABS-CBN.

Hindi man nasungkit ng aktres ang award, at least ay masaya siyang uuwi dahil isang malaking karangalan na para sa kanya ang mapasama sa nominado at ma-experience ang dumalo sa isang international awards night.

Fil-Am singer Gahlya

A name can make or break anyone with dreams of becoming a star, but when you’re a 14-year-old Fil-Am pop and R&B singer named Gahlya — which was derived from the name Adi Gallia, a Star Wars female Jedi Master under the call sign “Shooting Star” — the only way to go is up!

Gahlya is the newest teen sensation set to sky rocket to Hollywood in a huge way, performing as front act for The-Dream, the Grammy-award winning R&B singer and songwriter who has written hits like Umbrella for Rihanna and Put a Ring On It for Beyoncé, with vixen songstress Christina Milian this month at the UC Irvine Bren events center in California.

People say that a minute can change your destiny, but for Gahlya it was gumption and a surprise e-mail that gave her a US recording contract and set her on the road from her former name, Rachel Razon, to taking over America as Gahlya.

“I just thought, this is my chance, this could be the beginning of possibilities and opportunities,” Gahlya shares, remembering when she received the e-mail to fly to Los Angeles and do a demo for Manny Mijares, owner and executive record producer of Upscale Recording, a music company with R&B greats like Musiq Soulchild and Milian among their talents. Gahlya had met Mijares before at a music convention in 2008 when the teen joined the World Championship Of Performing Arts (WCOPA) in Hollywood.

Gahlya won Junior Grand Finalist for the song Good Morning Baltimore, but it was the chance meeting with Mijares that changed Gahlya’s course. “Manny was giving a talk and I raised my hand to ask how a young teen like me from the Philippines could make it in the US recording industry,” Gahlya continues. The record producer called her to the stage, and asked Gahlya to sing and she sang Big Girls Don’t Cry. Mijares was in awe of Gahlya’s spunky confidence and fresh R&B vocals that after the demo he signed her up with Upscale Recording.

What sets Gahlya apart from other teen or even adult-singers is that while they are struggling to find out what music they want to make, flitting from one sound to another, Gahlya speaks with sureness past her 14 years. At the snap of a finger she describes her music as “a fresh new sound mixed with old school R&B with a new school futuristic twist” citing the ’90s hip-hop group TLC’s laid-back swag and Lady Gaga’s no nonsense avant-garde edge as influences. “I love the late Aaliyah, too, and Lady Gaga, she’s bold, she’s different, I mean if it is who you are then it is who you are. That’s what I want to incorporate as Gahlya”. A taste of Gahlya’s sound can be found in Hypno, her single released last Sept. 8, smacking of teen electro pop, while her upcoming single Be the One, a remake of singer Stevie B’s song has a more breezy, peppy, pop groove.

New fans will be pleased to hear that there is more where that infectious, youthful vibe can be found. The name Gahlya not only comes from the Star Wars character Adi Gallia, I flipped up the name and included the Y to incorporate my two inspirations Lady Gaga for her boldness and Aaliyah for her swagger to make Gahlya,” the teen singer explains.

Aga Muhlach says no to politics

Hindi malaman ni Aga Muhlach how to react when a political party in Quezon City, which will reportedly field Congresswoman Anna Susano for mayor, offered to have him run for congressman. They will take care daw on his campaign expenses.

But according to Aga, joining politics is the least na kanyang gagawin. Ang pag-aartista pa rin ang kanyang priority sa ngayon.

Actually, this is not the first time na may nag-offer kay Aga na kumandidato. Pero, sabi nga ni Aga, politics, like any other profession which involve serving your kapwa, is a calling.

“Besides,” sabi pa ni Aga. “If ever I get into the political bandwagon, I’ll make sure that I’m prepared for it.

“E, sa ngayon, wala ako ni balak na i-prepare ang sarili ko sa propesyon na ‘yan.”

May napili na ba siyang iboboto among the presidentiables?

“Wala pa,” sagot ni Aga. “Sa dami ng problema ng ating bansa sa kasalukuyan, I can only hope and pray na kung sino man ang maging pangulo natin, mabigyan talaga ang ating bayan at tayong mga mamamayan ng bago at magandang buhay.

Dolphy loses hope of marrying Zsa Zsa

DOLPHY says he and Zsa Zsa Padilla no longer hope to be married someday. "Napagod na kami. We already spent so much after ma-annul 'yung church wedding niya at nag-down na kami sa venue. 'Yun pala, may problem sa technicality kasi dapat unang pina-annul ang civil wedding nila. As of now, we're happy as we are. Twenty years na kami. Mas matagal pa kami kaysa roon sa mga ibang ikinasal."

Both he and Zsa Zsa have entries in the December Metro filmfest, "Nobody, Nobody But Juan" and "Mano Po 6.” "Nagpaalam siya sa'kin kasi nauna kaming mag-shoot sa kanila and I said, sige, do it, kasi magkaiba naman kami ng movie. She's now in Beijing shooting it at katatawag lang sa'kin. Sobra raw ang lamig doon, below zero."

It's obvious that Dolphy is very proud of Eric, the biggest achiever among his sons who won acting awards, now directs films and TV shows, and is earning US dollars while working for Springtime, a production company in Hong Kong. "Nobody, Nobody But Juan" is a co-prod of his RVQ Productions and Eric's own Kaizz Ventures.

"Isa na ito sa pinakamagandang movie na nagawa ko," he says. "Nagsimula itong senior citizen ako sa isang assisted living community sa Chicago na owned by Eric and his wife, G Toengi. Galit sila sa'kin dahil ako ang pasimuno sa mga kasayahan doon sa nursing home, lalo sa panonood ng 'Wowowee.’ Dahil doon, na-trace ko ang longtime friends na naiwan ko sa Pinas."

In flashbacks, the young Juan is shown played by Epi Quizon. He performs on the vaudeville stage with a partner, To (Vandolph), so they're known as 1 and 2. Their best friends are Heart Evangelista and Pokwang. After the war, Juan migrates to the U.S. and through 'Wowowee,’ he's able to trace his three friends. To is now played by Eddie Garcia, Heart by Gloria Romero, and Pokwang remains herself but with aging makeup. Their reunion when Juan returns to Manila, as shown in the trailer, is very touching, as Gloria now has Alzheimer's disease and it turns out that Juan has a child with her, played by Dolphy's own daughter, Sahlee Quizon.

We tell Dolphy he has a good chance of winning the filmfest best actor award, especially for his acting in that scene he reminds his two sons (Eric and Joe Aldeguer) that they are still Filipinos at heart even if they grew up in the U.S.

Pero tsika pa ni Tim na wala naman daw siyang balak mag-focus sa pag arte, although willing naman daw siyang tu- manggap paminsan-minsan ng pelikula o TV guesting as long as maganda at bagay sa kanya ‘yong role na kanyang gagampanan.

Mas gusto raw kasi niyang makilala bilang magaling na host kesa sa sumikat na magaling na aktor. Sa ngayon ay busy si Tim sa kanyang mga negosyo, ang Encore na dating Embassy at ang Manor at bilang host sa kanyang top rating show sa QTV11 ang Events In-corporated kung saan co-host nito sina Daiana Meneses at Krissa Mae. Bukod pa rito ang pitong restaurants na pag-aari niya at ang pagbubukas ng isa pang bar sa Cebu (Manor) na may branch din sa Pampanga.

Willie Revillame tinarayan ng mga manonood sa laban ni Pacman vs. Cotto

TAGUMPAY ang show ni Willie Revillame noong November 15 sa Las Vegas. Nasorpresa pa siya dahil sa pagdating ng Superstar na si Nora Aunor.

Ayon sa Wowowee host wala siyang kaalam-alam na darating si Ate Guy.

“Tuwang-tuwa ang mga tao nang makita nila si Guy lalo pa nu’ng kumanta ito,” wika ni Willie.

Nanghihinayang lang siya dahil hindi sila gaanong nagkausap ni Ate Guy. Mapapanood ngayong tanghali sa Wowowee ang show na naganap sa Las Vegas. Samantala, wala raw katotohanan ang balitang na-boo si Willie, as in tinarayan ng mga tao, nang manood siya ng laban nina Manny Pacquiao at Miguel Cotto.

“Nasa kuwarto lang ako noon at nagpapahinga nang tawagan ako ni Lito Camo. Sabi ni Lito pinatawagan daw ako ni Manny. ‘Yon nga nakausap ko si Manny at sinabi niyang may nakareserba siyang tiket para sa akin,” kuwento nito.

“Ang mga tao lahat nakatutok at naghihiyawan dahil kay Manny,” dugtong ni Willie.

Totoong hindi raw na-boo ng mga tao si Willie nang manood ito ng laban ni Manny.

Ang mga taong nanood sa San Andres Gym sa may Malate, Manila ang siyang may kagagawan nang ma-focus ang Wo-wowee host sa screen kung saan sa ring side pa siya nakapuwesto habang nanonood ng boxing.

Nilinaw din ni Willie na hindi niya papasukin ang pulitika. Pero hindi naman daw siya nagsasalita nang patapos kaya lang sa ngayon ay na-ka-concentrate daw siya kung papaanong matutulu-ngan at mapasaya ang mga tao sa pamamaraang alam niya, ang paghu-host ng Wowowee.

Hanggang sa pagtulong lang daw sa mga kandidato ang kanyang magagawa at welcome daw ang sinumang mag-guest sa Wowowee ng kahit anong partido.

Hindi rin daw totoong nagkaroon ng gap ang pag-kakaibigan nila ni Kris Aquino dahil magkaiba ang kani-lang tinutulungang kandi-dato.

Annulment ni Zsa Zsa, may humaharang — Dolphy

Pagkatapos mapanood sa Dobol Trobol with Vic Sotto last year, balik-pelikula ang nag-iisang comedy king na si Mang Dophy sa Nobody, Nobody but Juan, official entry sa Metro Manila Film Festival ng Kaizz Ventures at RVQ Productions sa direksyon ng anak niyang si Eric Quizon.

Ang NNBJ, dating may titulong Juan, ang pinakamalaking proyekto ni Mang Dophy matapos ang best-selling biography niya na Hindi ko ito Narating na Mag-isa at ang phenomenal worldwide concert tour in connection with the said book.

Sa mini-presscon ng pelikula last Thursday night, nakipagtsikahan sa entertainment press si Mang Dolphy at in fairness, nag-stay siya hanggang sa matapos ito kahit alam nating medyo bawal sa kanya ang mapuyat.

Isa sa mga napag-usapan ay ang pulitika since as we all know, malapit na ang eleksyon.

Isa si Mang Dophy sa talagang lapitin ng mga kandidato dahil napakalaking bagay ang endorsement niya sa sinumang gustong tumakbo.

Pero anang Comedy King, wala pa namang lumalapit sa kanya nang diretsahan.

May mga nagpapahatid daw ng feelers, pero nang tanungin kung sino ang mga ito, say niya, “secret!”

So far, hindi raw niya alam kung may tatanggapin siyang pulitiko na ie-endorse. Pakikiramdaman daw muna niya dahil minsan na siyang napahamak noong maintriga sa pag-e-endorse sa yumaong si Fernando Poe Jr.

“’Di ba, napag-initan ako no’n? Ang laki-laki ng kuwan ko noon sa Inquirer, o! Akala mo, ako ang tatakbo. ’Yung sa Cebu? Kaya si FPJ, hindi na rin ako isinama noon, nahiya na,” say pa ni Mang Dolphy.

Pero ang ipinagtataka raw niya ay kung bakit napasama si Sen. Jinggoy Estrada sa line-up ni senator and presidentiable Manny Villar.

“Nagulat ako, nasa news, sabi ko, ano? Si Jinggoy? Ano ’to, tinakwil niya ang tatay niya? Ano kaya ito, ’kako,” pahayag ni Mang Dophy.

Isa rin sa napag-usapan ay ang hanggang ngayong hindi matuluy-tuloy na kasal nila ni Zsa Zsa Padilla dahil hindi pa annulled ang civil wedding nito sa unang asawang si Dr. Modesto Tatlonghari.

“Wala na, kinalimutan na namin ’yon. Malabo, eh. Malalim. Wala na tayong magagawa ru’n. Tanggap ko na. “Kung tutuusin, mas madali sanang i-annul ang civil wedding niya kasi 16 years old lang siya nu’n. Basta, mayroong humaharang. Well, coud be the husband, kasi ang annulment, kailangan, agreement of both parties,” aniya.

Inamin din ni Mang Dolphy na ready na talaga silang magpakasal noong unang mapabaitang aprubado na ang annulment.

“Nagkagasta na kami. Nag-downpayment na kami sa venue ng $25,000, kasi $50,000 ’yon, eh.”

Nabanggit nga noon ni Zsa Zsa na sumasama lang ang loob niya ’pag iniisip niya.

“Ah, oo, ako rin, hindi ko na rin iniisip.”

Agree naman daw siya sa sinabi ni Zsa Zsa na kung tutuusin, hindi na kailangan pang pakasal sila.

“Kasi ako rin, simula nang naging kami, ayan ang Diyos, hindi na ako nang-chicks talaga. Eh, noong araw, malandi talaga ako. Pero nu’ng kami na, talagang last na siya.”

Asked why, aniya, “Eh, nagkakaintindihan kami, eh, basta ’pag mainit ang ulo niya, relax ka lang.”

Sa ngayon, 20 years na nga raw sila at si Zsa Zsa ang longest relationship niya.

Anyway, kasalukuyang nasa Beijing, China, si Zsa Zsa para sa shooting ng Mano Po 6.

“Tumawag nga siya sa akin kanina, naku, kasalukuyang nangangatog daw siya sa ginaw,” kuwento ni Mang Dolphy.

Nagkakatawanan nga raw sila dahil magkalaban ang pelikula nila sa filmfest. Pero ganu’n daw talaga kaya wala silang magagawa’t hindi naman daw problema sa kanila ’yon.

Anyway, tapos nang gawin ni Direk Eric ang movie at post production na lang ang aasikasuhin niya.

Krissy & Ericka album launched

Edu Manzano umaming hiwalay na sila ni Pinky

anchor na si Pinky Webb.

Hindi itinanggi ni Edu ang kanilang paghihiwalay pero tumanggi siyang magbigay ng ibang detalye.

“Sa amin na lang iyong personal aspect. Sa tingin ko, wala itong basehan o epekto sa kampanya. May mga bagay na hindi maaaring mangyari na tulad ng plinano namin,” sabi pa ng aktor.

Hindi rin dumalo si Pinky sa convention ng partido ni Edu sa Philippine International Convention Center kahapon. Maging ang anak ni Edu na si Luis ay wala sa nasabing convention.

Sa rehearsal pa lamang ni Rhap for his guesting sa programa ni Ellen ay pinanood na siya ng personal ng sikat na host na hindi nito dating
ginagawa sa kanyang mga guest. Matatandaan na bago si Rhap ay si Charice Pempengco ang isa pang Pilipino na nakapag-guest sa show ni Ellen.

Katulad ni Rhap ay hinangaan din ito sa nasabing palabas. Pero kung si Rhap ay hinahangaan ni Ellen at baka matulungan nitong makilala sa international scene, ang popular naman na talk show host na si Oprah Winfrey ang nagsisilbing godmother ni Charice sa abroad.

Bago kumanta si Rhap ay binigyan niya ng regalong isang jewelry box si Ellen na gawa mula sa bunot. Sa card na kalakip nito ay sinabi niya ang ka­gus­tuhan niyang makakanta sa programa nito na ma­giging katuparan ng isa niyang malaon at malaking pangarap sa buhay.

Pagtatagpo nina KC, Drew at Angelina, ikinakasa

As everybody knows, magkakasama sa United Nations sina Kc Concepcion, Angelina Jolie at Drew Barrymore, pero ayon sa anak ni Megastar Sharon Cuneta, hindi pa niya nami-meet in person ang dalawang Hollywood stars.

Si KC ang local counterpart ni Drew bilang ambassador ng United Nations World Food Programme at si Angelina naman ay naka-assign sa world refugees.

Kung si KC ang tatanungin, kung mabibigyan siya ng chance na ma-meet sina Drew at Angelina, siyempre ay gusto niya.

“I really hope so na ma-meet ko sila, there’s been talk, pero mahirap din po kasi ang schedule nila, but I really hope so,” sabi ni Kc nang makausap namin sa launching ng Swatch endorsement last Tuesday.

Sino ba ang mas gusto niyang unang ma-meet, si Angelina o si Drew?

“Well, pareho po kasi ang trabaho namin ni Drew, mas marami siguro kaming mapag-uusapan pagdating do’n. But I’d love to meet both of them of course, they’re such an inspiration to me, matagal na nilang ginagawa itong work na ito, so, marami akong matututunan sa kanila,” pahayag pa ni KC.

KC Concepcion, a good role model

Ipinanganak na mayaman si KC Concepcion pero grabe ang ginagawa niyang malasakit sa mga nagugutom. Kinarir niya ang pagiging Ambassador ng World Food Programme ng United Nation.

Nakakarating siya ng Mindanao para tumulong magpakain sa mga nagugutom partikular na ang mga kabataan. At wala siyang takot pumunta sa nasabing lugar kahit maraming kinikidnap. Siguro nakakatulong ang tawag ni Tita Shirley (Kuan, ang kanyang manager) kay Robin Padilla (na gusto sana niyang makasama sa pelikula pero hindi puwede dahil naging lead­ing man na ito ng kanyang Mama Sharon) para makasiguro na magiging safe ang trip nila.

Nakalimang balik na siya ng Min­danao at sa awa ng Diyos parati naman silang safe na nakakabalik.

Kaya naman extra grateful siya to her tita Virgie Ramos, the lady behind the Swatch brand in the Philippines dahil bukod sa naging endorser siya ng na­sabing relos, makakatulong pa sila sa mga batang nagu­gutom. Sa nasabing collaboration nabuo ang KC Cares. Swatch Shares.

Jed Madela: One Voice Concert

Manila Chamber Orchestra Foundation presents Jed Madela: One Voice on Nov. 27, 8 p.m. at Philamlife Theater, United Nations Ave., Manila.

Jed’s (photo) repertoire includes songs from teleseryes, Josh Groban, Barry Manilow, musicals and others. Joining Jed are boy tenor Rhap Salazar and Cris Villonco. They will be accompanied by an eight-member live band directed by Bobby Velasco.

Proceeds of the concert will go to MCO’s Music Outreach Program which brings cultural events to schools, universities and communities for better exposure, appreciation and understanding of the arts and the Hope Program of Recovery Circle Foundation, a scholarship program that provides free treatment to families and persons suffering from addiction.

Julia Abueva captivates APEC leaders in concert

Thirteen-year-old Julia Abueva dominated a concert for 21 world leaders, including US President Barack Obama, in Singapore’s Esplanade last night.

The world leaders were gathered for the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum.

Of all the performers in the production, Abueva had the most exposure - she opened the concert with a solo, was included in the finale, and the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) decided to bring her back for the encore.

Abueva, an endorser of Swatch watches, is the youngest soloist handpicked by the STB for the concert, which brought together the best in Singapore entertainment and showcased the rich and diverse cultures in Asia.

To ensure precision and excellence, STB directors and Singapore officials attended all rehearsals.

“I can’t believe I got the chance to sing for President Obama! I know exactly where he will be sitting and I can see his seat even when the lights are on me, so I will try my best not to stare at him while I’m performing!” Abueva earlier said.

Abueva has to her credit almost seven years of experience and hundreds of performances across Asia, and recently the United States.

Based in Singapore for almost 10 years, Abueva is no stranger to performing for state events, but the teenager said she was “seriously stunned” when she found out she was to sing for Obama.

Recently acknowledged as one of “Asia’s Wonder Kids,” Abueva balances life as a performer and a regular student.

In the last year alone, she played the lead role in two musicals (“Sleepless Town” in Singapore, “The Fantasticks” in Manila), sold out her first solo concert at The Esplanade, cut her first single, was invited to guest at Nashville’s springtime concert, and was featured on Oprah as one of the World’s Most Talented Kids - while maintaining her honor roll standing in school.

“My parents and I choose performances that will really help me grow and ideally don’t conflict with school. Just like last summer, I was able to play Luisa in ‘The Fantasticks’ in Manila. I feel it stretched me as a performer and it was during my summer break, which was great. We agreed we will only choose a performance over school if it is really big enough,” she said.

Currently an eighth grader at the Singapore American School, Abueva is very familiar with Obama’s rise to the US presidency and is a big fan.

“I love him and he is a great man. Knowing that he will be watching me and listening to me is just unbelievable,” she said.

Edu Manzano for Vice President

The announcement came as a big surprise, if not a mild shock, to most people in the industry.

“I was surprised, too,” said Edu “Doods” Manzano on his choice as Gibo Teodoro’s running-mate in the 2010 elections. “I knew about it but I didn’t think the announcement would be made so soon.”

“Nagulat ako!” said Edu’s manager June Torrejon when she heard the announcement yesterday.

Edu initially planned to run for senator under former Pres. Joseph “Erap” Estrada’s Puwersa Ng Masang Pilipino (PMP), that’s why he quit as host of the ABS-CBN gameshow Pilipinas, Game Ka Na Ba? several weeks ago, although he has stayed as co-host of the same station’s early-morning show Umagang Kay Ganda.

“For Doods’ senatorial bid, we have already prepared buttons with ‘Game na!’ on them,” said June. “Well, we can still use those buttons even now that he’s running for vice president.”

Unlike Defense Secretary Gibo who is, as he put it, “a neophyte” in politics, Edu is not a greenhorn. He once served as Vice Mayor of Makati City and later lost his bid for the mayor of the same city.

He also served Pres. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s administration as head of the Optical Media Board (OMB) which is tasked to run after film pirates. It’s the same position that he inherited from Sen. Bong Revilla and is now held by Ronnie Ricketts. It’s interesting to note that Bong was also short-listed as Gibo’s running-mate, together with Vice Pres. Noli de Castro who has begged off from the race.

But keeping the advice of his father, former Sen. Ramon Revilla, to bide his time because he’s “still too young,” Bong declined the offer and decided to run for reelection.

The, well, “merry-go-round” even included Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos — yes, Edu’s ex-wife! — who claimed that, despite the persistent reports, she never got a formal offer. She said “no, thank you” just the same, determined as she is to run for reelection and, she said, “finish what I have started as Governor of Batangas.”

Asked for her reaction to Edu’s vice presidential bid, Gov. Vilma said, “Why not? He’s very qualified to be a public servant. Kaya n’ya ‘yon! Wishing him good luck!”

Edu said that he didn’t have second thoughts about being Gibo’s running-mate.

“Gibo is a good man,” said Edu. “He has a good vision for the country. He will make a good president.”

Edu added that he has been working hand in hand with Gibo’s wife, Tarlac Rep. Monica “Nikki” Prieto-Teodoro in the campaign against child abuse (and child pornography) which was among his priorities as OMB head.

Edu will be running against Sen. Mar Roxas (with Sen. Noynoy Aquino as running-mate) and Makati City Mayor Jojo Binay (with Erap). Also rumored to be running are former First Lady Imelda Marcos (with MMDA Chairman Bayani Fernando), and Sen. Loren Legarda and Sen. Chiz Escudero (not clear with whom).

Masasabing ang Pop Princess na ang may hawak ng korona bilang Concert Queen na matagal ding hawak ni Pops Fernandez.

Kumpirmado ring na-break ni Sarah ang concert record ng mga nagsipag-show sa Araneta.

Very thankful ang singer sa lahat ng mga nanood at sumuporta sa kanyang Record Breaker concert.

Kung happy si Sarah sa naging resulta ng kanyang concert, obvious namang hindi siya natutuwa sa mga intriga na ikinakabit sa kanilang dalawa ni Gerald Anderson dahil sa planong pagsamahin sila sa pelikula.

Ayon kay Sarah, nauunawaan niya ang Kim Chiu-Gerald fans at siya na mismo ang nag-step down para hindi matuloy ang movie nila ni Gerald.

“Masyado nang mara-ming nasasabing hindi maganda sa amin,” say ni Sarah sa The Buzz. “Naiintindihan ko lahat ‘yung mga fans ng Kimerald wala sa akin ‘yon. Hindi ko po kasi ipinagpipilitan ang sa-rili ko na makapareha si Gerald. Wala na, tapos na po. Ako na po ang nagsa-sabi na itigil na po natin kasi hindi maganda ang nagiging resulta, huwag i-pilit.”

Humanga naman si The Buzz host Boy Abunda sa sinabi ni Sarah.

Heto naman ang mataray na komento ng isang loyal Sarah fan na malapit din sa amin: “Bakit naging box-office queen at king na ba ang inyong idolo? May napatunayan na ba silang pareho sa kanilang career. Kung hindi pa panay ang press release ng Kapamil-ya tungkol sa loveteam nilang dalawa (Kim at Gerald), mapag-uusapan ba sila?”

Kris Aquino loves Kim Chiu

NORMAL na ang pagiging “karakter” ng personalidad ni Kris Aquino na minahal ng taumbayan, na kahit na gabi-gabing pagla-live hosting nito with Boy Abunda sa Showbiz News Ngayon ng ABS-CBN ay natural lang ito on the air.

Last Nov. 3, habang tumatakbo nang live ang show, sa harap ng camera ay sinabi ni Kris na nagte-text sa kanya personally si Kim at nagpapasalamat sa isang gesture na ginawa nito sa The Buzz two Sundays ago.

“Nagte-text kasi si Kim Chiu, hindi ko tuloy maalala,” nalilitong sabi ni Kris after ng commercial gap. “Ano ba’ng nangyari sa atin sa The Buzz?

“About Kim?” balik-tanong ni Boy kay Kris na para bang nagkukuwentuhan lang sila.

“I don’t know, eh… Basta ito (ang text message ni Kim sa kanya, habang hawak ang blackberry cell nito): ‘Hi, Ate Kris! Gusto ko pong mag-thank you nang sobra-soooobbbraa sa pagtanggol n’yo po sa akin sa The Buzz. Hindi ko po napanood ‘yung episode kasi, nasa Cebu po kasi ako. Pero sinabihan po ako ng fans, and pinanood po nila sa akin sa YouTube. Grabe. Sobrang thank you po sa lahat-lahat ng sinabi n’yo, na-touch po naman ako. Hehe. More power and ingat po kayo always!” Ano kayang na-sabi ko?” tawa niya.

“We always defend her (in the show),” hirit ni Boy.

“I love her so much, pero hindi ko na maano…” tawa ulit ni Kris na halatang very busy these days kaya hindi na maalala kung ano ang nasabi nito patungkol sa sikat na young actress.

“Sandali, sa text message bang ‘yan ay kasama ako?” tanong ni Boy.

“Wala ka na naman!” sagot ni Kris.

“Wala na naman? My God!” tawa ni Boy. “But I love you, Kim!”

“Was it about Kime-rald? Naku, i-review n’yo (staff) nga! Sorry, hindi ko na naman ano, but I love you, Kim, you know that,” hagikgik nang napakanatural na si Kris.

After some gaps, nagpatuloy si Kris, habang hawak-hawak pa rin ang so-sing cellphone.

“Nag-reply na si Kim (tungkol sa text message ni-to sa kanya). Ito pala ‘yung issue, ’Yun daw pong mga taong nanlalait sa akin sa fashion style ko… Sabi ko kasi, for me, she (Kim) is one of the best dressed. Remember? And the news said, “Well, if you have that body and you’re that skinny, you can really dress up that way.”

Ang fans kasi nina Kim at Sarah Geronimo ang “nagbabangayan” sa Internet blogs and threads, kung si-no ang mas sikat, mas talen-ted, etc. nang magpasabi raw ang Kimerald fans na ayaw nilang maging partner ni Gerald si Sarah. To the rescue naman siyempre ang fans ni Sarah. Ang idol daw nila ay nakaka-two time box- office queen awards na, si Kim ay wala pa.

“I think, kasi, sinasabi rin na sa box-office, wala pa siyang napatutunayan, but I said, uhhm, kaya nga ‘yan (Kimerald movie) ang unang ilalabas ng Star Cinema for the year. Because siyempre, they have to start off strong, kaya Kim and Gerald movie ang first offering ng Star Cinema for 2010… There you go!” sabi pa ni Kris.

Toni Gonzaga nagpalusot alang-alang kay Kris

Hindi lang pala si Ai Ai delas Alas ang naiipit kina Erap at Noynoy Aquino, kungdi maging si Toni Gonzaga rin.

Aba inoperan pala siya ni Erap na tumakbong mayor ng Taytay, Rizal sa 2010. Sa kasalukuyan ay isa siyang kagawad sa Taytay at konsehal naman ang tatay niya. Hindi niya matanggap ang offer ni Erap, gumanap bilang ama niya sa Ang Tanging Pamilya dahil matagal na si-yang nakapag-commit kay Kris Aquino para kay Noynoy bago pa raw nila sinimulan ang pelikula.

Nagpalusot na lang siya kay Erap na kesyo gusto pa raw niyang mag-aral para maging handa siyang manilbihan sa mga kababayan niya sa Taytay. Wala rin daw si-yang kabalak-balak na mag-concentrate ngayon sa politics dahil nage-enjoy pa siya nang husto sa showbiz. At ang dami pa niyang mga commitments na dapat gawin. Siguro raw ay pag-iisipan niyang tumakbo kung nakapag-asawa na siya which is five years from now pa.

Balewala sa kanya na tumatayong suporta lang silang dalawa ni Sam Milby kina Erap at Ai Ai sa Ang Tanging Pamilya. Bago ito ay nakagawa na kasi silang dalawa ni Sam ng tatlong pelikula na sila mismo ang bida at puro kumita ang mga ito.

“Isang malaking honor na sa akin ang makasama ang dating Oangulong Erap sa pelikula. First time ko ring makasama sa pelikula ang comedy queen. Kaya ‘yung pagkakataon lang at experience na makasama silang dalawa ay malaking bagay na sa akin,” say ni Toni.

Sports Unlimited bags CMMA award

ABS-CBN’s Sports Unlimited hosted by Dyan Castillejo and Marc Nelson, received the Hall of Fame award for the Best Sports Program in the 2009 Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA).

The award was clinched this year, after Sports Unlimited has secured the Best Sports Show citation for three years (in 2005, 2006 and 2008).

Dyan, accompanied by her son Matthew Garcia, accepted the award in behalf of Sports Unlimited team. Marc was abroad at the time of the awards night.

The hosts take pride in everything that the show stands for. To them, Sports Unlimited is in the business of adventure, health and fitness. “Our product is active life. Our office is outdoors,” they say.

When it comes to action and adventure, the Sports Unlimited crew with Marc and Dyan set the standard. It is the only show that thrives on “firsts.”

Marc was the first ever non-pilot in the country to ride an Alpha fighter jet. It was the same show that had their hosts trek the peak of Mt. Pinatubo and swim inside its crater for the first time. Is it really over for Angel & Luis?

Is it really over for Angel Locsin and Luis Manzano? The two accidentally bumped into each other during a performance in A.S.A.P. They both didn’t know that they were included in the opening number. “Dun lang uli kami nagkita. Biglaan. I didn’t know he was included in the opening number. So medyo nakakaloka ang reaction ko,” explained Angel.

“I didn’t notice if we held hands. I am not sure and I cannot remember,” said Luis.

Angel also revealed that they were not talking to each other after the break-up. “It’s kinda weird if we continue to talk to each other. Break na nga di ba,” she reasoned out. “I just want to be true to myself. Weird naman kung chummy chummy kami agad. I was really surprised to see him at the opening number of A.S.A.P. I think he, too, was surprised.”

But do they still love each other? “That is one question I cannot answer right now. I miss the way we were but I don’t miss him.”

Luis said that his mother, Gov. Vi, misses Angel a lot. “My mother loves Angel so much and I can really say and I am very sure that my mom misses Angel.”

Angel said that the governor will always be her idol. “Whatever happens, I am here to support her.”

Asked if she has found a new love, Angel enthused, “Hindi ako nagmamadali. Gabriela ako, at marunong mag-isip.”

Is it game over for Angel and Luis? Abangan!
