Kris Aquino and Ruffa Gutierrez Mend Gap

Noong Biyernes ay isang engrandeng pagtitipon ng mga pinakasikat na celebrities ang ginanap para gunitain ang ika-25 anibersaryo ng 1986 EDSA People Power Revolution. Naghandog sila ng isang libreng concert para sa mga kababayan natin sa pangunguna ni Ogie Alcasid.

Muling nasaksihan ang pagsasama nina Kris Aquino at Ruffa Gutierrez dahil sila ang tumayong hosts sa nasabing event kasama pa ang isa pa nilang kaibigan na si AiAi Delas Alas.

Matatandaang nagkaroon nang hindi pagkakaunawaan sina Kris at Ruffa noong isang taon at mula noon ay hindi na nila napag-usapan kung ano man ang naging problema nila. Nagkita na rin ang dalawa sa isang event sa Resorts World kamakailan pero simpleng hi at hello lang ang nangyari sa kanila noon. Sa muli nilang pagsasama noong Biyernes ay tuluyan nang nagka-ayos at nagka-patawaran sina Ruffa at Kris. “All is well that ends well, and I’m happy kasi I mean effort ‘yung ginawa ni Ruffa to be here tonight and I’m so appreciative of that effort,” nakangiting pahayag ni Kris.

“Oo! Umiyak-iyak ako kanina dahil hindi naman kami talaga nakapag-usap since that incident. Sabi ko sa kanya, Uy! Kris sorry ha, kasi hindi ko naman talaga alam na may pinagdadaanan ka pala noon ‘di ba,” pahayag naman ni Ruffa. Inamin din nina Kris at Ruffa na kinalimutan na raw nila ang hindi nila pagkakaunawaan dati. Matagal na rin daw kasi silang magkakilala at kababawan lamang daw ang naging dahilan ng kanilang tampuhan.

Lumaki ang isyu sa pagitan ng dalawa dahil sa kasagsagan ng kampanya at eleksiyon noon.

Masayang-masaya ang dalawa dahil muling nanumbalik ang kanilang friendship. Nagkabiruan pa sina Ruffa at Kris na pareho raw kasi silang mabait kaya nangyari ito sa kanila. “Ito, walang halong any ka-plastikan or pagpapa-cute or whatever kasi we’re at that point in our lives na, the past is behind us, okay ang present, we can look forward to the future,” emosyonal na pahayag ni Kris.

Pagkatapos ng concert ay nag-post pa ng messages sina Ruffa at Kris sa kanya-kanyang twitter account kung gaano sila kasaya sa katatapos lamang nilang pagkikita.

Pilipinas Got Talent premieres today

A blind girl playing the piano, brothers tap dancing on regular leather shoes, a girl circling hoola hoops simultaneously around her body, and a brass band composed of 70 members altogether on one stage.

These are only some of the acts to watch out for as Pinoys once again show the world what they’ve got in the second season of Pilipinas Got Talent (PGT) premiering today on ABS-CBN.

The search is on once more for that world-class act worthy of winning the P2M cash prize and getting that once-in-a-lifetime shot at stardom just like Jovit Baldivino who is now living the dream and making a mark in the industry with his music.

As PGT returns on air, so are its wacky hosts Luis Manzano and Billy Crawford who are excited to get back on stage and do the show all over again.

“I am extremely happy. We all know how much people supported the first season so it’s a good feeling doing the same thing all over with Billy boy,” said Luis.

Judges Kris Aquino, Ai-Ai delas Alas and Freddie Garcia a.k.a. FMG are also back to decide who makes the cut and who among the acts deserve to be in the grand finals.

When asked what pieces of advice they can give to season two hopefuls, Kris said, “This is a God-given chance. It’s a chance to perform for the entire nation. Ibigay mo na ang lahat dahil minsan lang dumadating ang ganito kalaking oportunidad.”

“Mataas ang pressure ngayon dahil dapat kabugin niya ang season one. Kung dati binuhay niyo ang katawang lupa ko, ngayon mas buhayin niyo pa ang kaluluwa ko,” added Ai-Ai.

FMG also encouraged hopefuls to be braver and bolder than ever and prove that they are truly the best as he expects the competition to be on the next level this time around. “Mas technical ang judging ngayon. It’s a totally different show because it’s a variety show. You really don’t know what to expect. I think that is the beauty of PGT.”

ABS CBN Shows Lead in Metro and Mega Manila TV Ratings

Mara Clara, Mutya, & Imortal are PHL’s top 3 most-watched TV programs.

When it comes to TV shows on primetime, ABS-CBN’s teleseryes remain the most popular among viewers nationwide, including Mega Manila where GMA used to lead in TV ratings.

Kantar Media/TNS data for Feb 1 to 15 show that ABS-CBN’s “Mutya,” “Mara Clara,” and “Imortal” consistently beat “Dwarfina,” “Machete,” and “I Heart You Pare” in Metro Manila, Mega Manila, and the entire country.

Leadership in primetime television is important because television viewing is at its highest in the evening. February’s figures would show that ABS-CBN had more viewers than any other TV network in across the country as it enjoyed a 40% audience share or nine points higher than GMA’s 31%.

Interestingly, GMA lost its leadership in Mega Manila primetime to ABS-CBN’s “Mara Clara” that topped all shows with an average rating of 27.6%. GMA’s “Machete” could only hit 20.6%. The other ABS-CBN shows did better than GMA such as “Mutya” (23%) vs “Dwarfina” (22.2%) and “Imortal” (21.6%) vs “I Heart You Pare” (20.2%).

The trend is the same in Metro Manila with more households tuning in to ABS-CBN’s primetime offerings. “Mara Clara” remained on top with an average rating of 28.6% vs “Machete” with a mere 19.4%. “Mutya” (23.7%) rated higher than “Dwarfina” (20.9%). And “Imortal” (23.6%) had more followers than “I Heart You Pare”(19.4%).

Nationwide, ABS-CBN pulled away from competition. “Mara Clara” is the country’s number one program with an average rating of 34.8%, which is more than twice the rating of GMA’s “Machete” (17.1%). “Mutya” rated an average of 31.4% vs. GMA’s “Dwarfina” (18.3%). ABS-CBN again enjoyed a double-digit lead with “Imortal” (26%) beating “I Heart You Pare” (15.9%).

In February, ABS-CBN has not only maintained its national leadership in TV ratings but it has wrestled the primetime TV leadership in Mega Manila from GMA.

Kantar Media, a global market research group, offers audience research measurement systems in 32 countries. It started releasing its Philippine television audience measurement data in February 2009 with panels composed of 1,370 representative households covering urban Philippines and reporting on seven sectors namely the National Capital Region, North Luzon, Central Luzon, South Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

ABS-CBN shifted to Kantar Media/TNS after filing a case vs. AGB Nielsen Media Research for failing to comply with its request to investigate alleged cheating and data tampering in TV ratings. The case is still pending in court.

Angeline Quinto Star Power Winner (Video)

Angeline Quinto from Sampaloc, Manila is the grand winner of Sharon’s Search for the Next Female Pop Superstar.

Akiko, K-La, Angeline, Krissel and Monica competed for the last time Sunday night during the grand finals of Star Power held at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

There were 3 rounds of fierce showdown. Akiko Solon of Cebu was the first to get eliminated during round 1 when each of the final 5 performed a song of their own choice.

During the second round, the remaining four contestants sang songs that were chosen by the judges for them. K-La Rivera was the second finalist to get the boot.

The remaining three finalists–Monica, Angeline and Krissel–each performed an original song from Star Records as their final hurdle.

Monica Sacay of Leyte settled for third place. Angeline Quinto was announced the grand winner while Krissel Valdez of Davao ended up in 2nd place.

Sarah Geronimo and Gerald Anderson as Sasa and Gege

Sobrang excited na ngayon ng Pop Princess na si Sarah Geronimo para sa kanyang pinakabagong pelikula with Gerald Anderson. Ito ang kauna-unahang pagsasama ng dalawa sa isang pelikula kaya kinakabahan si Sarah.

“Nandoon lagi ’yung kaba, ’yung question na baka hanapin ’yung dati. Kaya nga tayo actors, kailangan nating gawin ang lahat sa isang character, sa isang eksena. Sana ay makita natin sa pelikulang ito ’yung magic na ’yun,” nakangiting sabi ni Sarah.

“Mas okay ako na hindi ako nape-permanente sa isang ka-love team lang. Nagiging part ’yun ng growth mo as an actor. Iba-iba ’yung leading men, ’yung kaeksena mo, iba-iba ’yung natututunan mo,” dagdag pa ng aktres.

Close na close na ngayon sina Sarah at Gerald kaya mayroon na rin silang kakaibang tawagan sa isa’t isa.

“Gege and Sasa! Sobra siyang focused at nag-e-enjoy din siya sa shooting,” sambit naman ni Gerald.

“Si Gerald, tahimik lang, gentleman. Simple gesture lang na tutulungan kang humakbang sa mataas na lugar. Aalalayan ka kapag maraming tao. Nakakatuwa kasi para kaming magkapatid sa set,” kuwento pa ni Sarah.

Melai Cantiveros admits tryst with Jason

Melai Cantiveros never thought she’d be in showbiz. But look at her now, she’s one of ABS’ busiest stars. She’s hosting “Happy Yippe Yehey” at noontime and will also be seen daily in “Precious Hearts Romances Presents Mana Po” starting Monday with her boyfriend Jason Francisco.

Won’t she be overexposed?

“Hindi naman,” she says. “Pero bahala ang tao kung magsawa sila sa ’kin. Basta may suweldo ako.”

After playing support in “Impostor” and “Kokey,” are they (Melai and Jason) ripe to topbill their own show? “Siguro. Nag-workshop kami rito kina Direk Ted at Katski kasi dati, we just play ourselves. Dito, bagong Melai at Jason ang makikita, lalo na ako as Brandi de la Paz, a rich spoiled brat na nag-aral abroad. Mahirap, kasi hindi ako 'yun. Kinontrol nila ako rito. Bawal maglukot-lukot ng mukha at mag-over-over. Lagi nilang nire-remind, hindi ka si Melai rito. 'Yung yaman ng family namin, di sa’kin pinamana ng ama ko, si John Arcilla. Leading the cast is Coco Martin, who plays a dual role as Alexander and Javier. Joining him are Maja Salvador and Andi Eigenmann as his leading ladies, Lorna Tolentino, Amy Austria, John Estrada, Albert Martinez, Martin del Rosario, Ronaldo Valdez, Boots Anson-Roa, Agot Isidro and Angel Aquino.

With the special participation of Kim Chiu who plays the young Lorna Tolentino, Erich Gonzales as the young Amy Austria and Xian Lim as young John Estrada.

Toni Gonzaga wala nang oras sa BF

Muling magsasama sa isang pelikula sina Toni Gonzaga at Eugene Domingo.

Isang comedy film ang niluluto ng Star Cinema ngayon para sa dalawa.

Huling nagkasama sina Toni at Eugene sa movie hit na You Are The One.

Sobrang excited na nina Toni at Eugene for their movie project. “Alam ko kung gaano kahusay si Ate Uge. I’m really excited na marami akong matututunan sa kanya,” bungad ni Toni.

“Nakakatuwa na after ilang years, magkakasama ulit kami ni Toni. Toni Gonzaga, isa sa hinahangaan natin na ang daming kayang gawin at alam mong napakasayang tao. Really looking forward to working with her, being with her,” pahayag naman ni Eugene.

Makakasama rin nina Toni at Eugene si Wendell Ramos bilang leading man ni Uge sa pelikula. “I’m excited and honored na of course after so many years, nag-work ako sa Star Cinema like ‘yung Sukob and then eto na naman,” maikling pahayag ni Wendell.

Looking forward na ngayon pa lang si Joey Reyes na siyang magdidirek ng nasabing project. “I’m having really good vibes that this film is going to be a lot of fun at ang masaya niyan is kahit ang tagal na katrabaho ko si Uge, this is the first time na makaka-trabaho ko si Toni Gonzaga,” kuwento ni Direk Joey.

Sobrang busy ngayon ni Toni sa telebisyon dahil mula Lunes hanggang Sabado ay mayroon siyang Happy, Yipee, Yehey, ASAP, at The Buzz naman tuwing Linggo.

Ano kaya ang reaksiyon ng kanyang boyfriend na si Direk Paul Soriano sa kanyang pagiging busy sa telebisyon? “Oh! No more time talaga, no more time for me. Hindi…masaya ‘yun. Alam niya na ito ang gusto kong ginagawa. He’s happy and supportive,” paliwanag pa ni Toni.

ABS-CBN Wins National TV Ratings

ABS-CBN Corporation, the country’s largest multimedia conglomerate, continues its winning streak since the start of 2011 with its locally-produced primetime programs leading the nationwide ratings.

According to Kantar Media/TNS, ABS-CBN led primetime TV with an average audience share of 40 percent or nine points higher than GMA’s 31 percent and TV5’s 16 percent for the period of Jan 1 to Feb 14.

Kantar Media/TNS data also show that ABS-CBN obtained a bigger average audience share of 36 percent for the same period (Jan 1 to Feb 14), which is higher than GMA’s 34 percent and TV5’s 13 percent.

According to ABS-CBN Corporate Communications head Bong Osorio, ABS-CBN primetime shows are doing so well that its drama series “Mara Clara” has wrestled the Mega Manila leadership from GMA on primetime.

Osorio noted that ABS-CBN’s top raters are all network-produced programs such as “Mara Clara,” “Mutya,” and “Imortal,” while GMA’s top raters are either produced by a blocktimer or a canned Korean series.

“ABS-CBN remains to be the national leader year-to-date (Jan 1 to Feb 14) without excluding some days based on the Kantar Media/TNS ratings data,” he said.

For the month of January 2010, ABS-CBN led in the national, balance Luzon, southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao TV ratings.

For Balance Luzon, ABS-CBN obtained a 39% audience share, which was higher than GMA’s 35%.

More than half of the homes in Southern Luzon tuned in to ABS-CBN (56%) than GMA (25%).

In the Visayas, the number of Kapamilya homes was more than twice the number of Kapuso homes. 53% of the homes in the Visayas watched ABS-CBN shows while only 24% watched GMA.

In Mindanao, almost six out of ten homes watched ABS-CBN (55%) compared to only 19% watching GMA.

ABS-CBN Wins 18 Awards in Gandingan 2011

ABS-CBN won 18 awards, including Most Development-Oriented TV Station, in the recently concluded Gandingan 2011: The 5th UPLB Isko’t Iska’s Broadcast Choice Awards.

TV Patrol World and DZMM Radyo Patrol 630 both made it to the hall of fame, after winning for the fifth consecutive year as Best News Program and Best AM Station respectively.

TV Patrol’s Ted Failon was honored as Best News Anchor and Best AM Announcer. Kim Atienza was also a double winner, being named as Best Field Reporter and Best Youth Oriented Program Host. Atienza’s show Matanglawin was also honored as the Best Youth Oriented Program.

The award for Best FM Station went to Tambayan 101.9, while two of its announcers, Chinaheart and Charlie, shared the award for Best DJ.

Kris Aquino nag-dinner with James Yap

Kahapon ay nagsimula na ang pinakabagong game show ni Kris Aquino, ang The Price is Right.

Maganda ang naging presentation ng nasabing show dahil kasabay ng kanilang pilot episode ang mismong kaarawan ni Kris.

Noong Sabado ay back-to-back ang naging birthday celebration ng Queen of all media. Nagkaroon ng medical mission sa Tarlac si Kris sa umaga at kinagabihan naman ay isang private dinner ang ginanap sa kanyang bahay na dinaluhan ng ilang malalapit na kaibigan mula sa showbiz at pulitika.

Present din sa nasabing private dinner ang mga kapatid ni Kris at naghandog din si Presidente Noynoy Aquino ng isang song number para sa bunsong kapatid.

Simple lamang daw ang birthday wish ni Kris. “I want freedom, ‘yun lang ang gusto ko. Matapos na lahat para maging malaya kami ni James pareho na makahanap ng kaligayahan namin na hindi namin naibigay sa isa’t isa,” paha­yag ng aktres.

Nag-post naman ng message kahapon si Kris sa kanyang twitter account na isang dinner daw ang pinagsaluhan nila ni James Yap kasama sina Josh at Baby James noong Linggo. Isang bracelet din daw ang iniregalo sa kanya ng dating asawa.

Jericho, Anne at Jake aarangkada na sa GREEN ROSE

ANG Pinoy remake ng Ko-reanovelang Green Rose, starring Jericho Rosales, Anne Curtis, Jake Cuenca at Alessandra De Rossi ay mapapanood na simula nga-yong Lunes (Feb. 14), sa Prmetime Bida ng ABS-CBN.

After ng Dahil May Isang Ikaw na pinagtamba-lan nina Jericho Rosales at Kristine Hermosa, gaganap si Jericho bilang Jerome Del-gado, isang simpleng binata na may simpleng pangarap sa buhay.

“Maganda ’yung papel ko rito. I can say this is one of my favorite projects,” say ni Jericho.

Si Anne naman ay excited na ring gampanan ang karakter bilang Angela Tuazon, ang babaing mai-in love kay Jerome Delgado. Ito ang pag-babalik sa primetime ni Anne after ng huling serye niyang The Wedding noong 2009.

“Na-miss kong maging part ng teleserye talaga. Kaya now that I’m given a chance again, I will definitely do my best,” ayon naman kay Anne.

Happy Yipee Yehey Launched!

NAPUNO ang Ynares Sports Arena sa Pasig kahapon sa grand launching ng newest noontime show ng ABS-CBN na Happy Yipee Yehey!

Bongga ang performance ng main hosts na sina John Estrada, Randy Santiago, Mariel Rodriguez at Toni Gonzaga sa kanilang opening number. After nito, tinawag ng apat na hosts ang kanilang co-hosts na sina Bianca Manalo, Kuya Jobert, Melai Cantiveros, Bentong at ang special co-hosts na sina Sam Milby at Matteo Guidicelli.

Si John Prats naman ay napanood mula sa SM North EDSA para sa segment na “Ikaw Ang Bida.”

Sa opening, kitang-kita na very close na ulit sina Mariel at Toni.

“Grabe, I can’t explain the feeling. We’re extremely happy and grateful for the unending support of our Kapamilyas. Hindi namin ini-expect na dudumugin kami agad ng ganito,” wika ni Randy.

Naging emosyonal naman si Mariel dahil sa hindi niya inaasahan na sa kanyang pagbabalik-noontime show ay lubos pa rin ang pagsuporta sa kanya ng fans. Sa bandang right side nga ng stage, puro fans ’ata ni Mariel ang umuukopa dahil panay ang tili nila tuwing lumalabas ang TV host sa stage.

Excited din si Toni sa kanyang muling pagho-host ng isang noontime show. Bagamat isang batikang host, kakaibang experience daw para sa kanya ang dadalhin ng Happy Yipee Yehey. Ang PBB at The Buzz ay ilan lamang sa pinakamalaking hosting jobs ni Toni.

Tiwala naman si John na sa tulong ng televiewers ay aangat agad ang kanilang programa sa rating. “Ako, naniniwala ako na basta mahalin mo lang ang mga manonood at mga katrabaho mo, mamahalin ka din nila,” wika pa niya.

Bulong Earns P33.25M in First 5 Days

“Bulong”, Star Cinema’s horror comedy film, topped Philippine box-office last week with a haul of P33.25 million in first 5 days.

Starring Vhong Navarro and Angelica Panganiban, “Bulong” is Star Cinema’s opening salvo for 2011 and the first local mainstream movie to be screened this year after the Metro Manila Film Festival.

Star Cinema’s previous horror films earned higher in their first 5 days of showing. “Cinco” which was shown July last year had an opening gross of P38.59M while the MMFF entry “Dalaw” earned around P50 million. However, the P33.25 million opening weekend gross of “Bulong” is not bad at all.

“Bulong” bested 3 Hollywood movies which also debuted last week: The Rite (#3), Burlesque (#4) and the Warrior’s Way (#9). It was also the grand opening week of “Tangled” after its 3D debut last 2 weeks ago.

Nag-react na sina Randy Santiago at John Estrada sa galit ni Willie Revillame sa kanila dahil sa pagtanggap nila ng noontime show sa ABS-CBN na Happy, Yipee, Yehey.

Matatandaang naglabas ng sama ng loob si Willie dahil sa ginawa ngang pagtanggap ng mga kaibigan sa noontime show gayung inaayos na raw niya ang show ng dalawa sa TV5.

Last Sunday sa The Buzz, ipinaliwanag ng dalawa na trabaho lang ang lahat at hindi damay dito ang pagiging magkakaibigan nila.

"Alam n'yo, hindi lang naman sa magkakaibigan nangyayari 'yan. Kahit sa magkakapatid, meron talagang mga tampuhan. Ganunpaman, just to put an end to this, I'll just like to say na wala po kaming ginawang masama. Kami po ay tumanggap ng trabaho at ganunpaman din, gusto lang din naman namin na magpasaya ng tao,” pahayag ni John.

Ayon naman kay Randy, masakit din sa kanya na nasaktan si Willie sa kanilang naging desisyon.

"Of course, you know, kami ni Willie, magkasama ever since 1983, we're talking about 28 years together. Isang kuwarto ang tinutulugan namin when we were doing Sicada.

"So, in other words, tampuhan ng magkapatid. Right after na mapakinggan natin ang tampo niya, we were deeply hurt also dahil gusto niya, siyempre, magkasama-sama kaming muli.

"Pero, of course, dahil nga sa nangyaring ito, hindi namin inaasahan na nandito pa rin kami sa Channel 2. In a way, tinext din agad namin siya. Si brother John, e, nag-text din sa kanya. Humihiling kami na sana, sa susunod na panahon, e, magkakasama rin tayo.

"Pero at this point, siyempre, trabaho lang, 'ika nga. Nauna lang itong show ng ABS,” say ni Randy.

Dagdag naman ni John, alam daw ni Willie kung gaano nila ito kamahal bilang kaibigan.

"Kami po ay tunay na kaibigan. Ito po ay isang trabaho lamang. Kailangan din naming magtrabaho ni Randy.

"Sana po, e, katulad nga ng sinabi ko kay brother Randy, as long as malinis ang konsensiya natin, at alam natin na alam ng Diyos na wala tayong ginagawang masama, siguro naman kahit sinong kumalaban sa atin, e, hindi magtatagumpay dahil kakampi natin ang Diyos dito,” wika ni John.

Why Alfred Vargas returned to ABS-CBN

ALFRED Vargas decided not to renew his contract with GMA7 which expired last year.

He's now a freelancer, and quite happy that ABS-CBN took him again after seven years. He's now in the new fantaserye, “Mutya,” playing a merman named Irvin, the prince of the sea. Alfred is paired here with Precious Lara Quigaman, and they have a lot of underwater scenes which call for them to be scantily clad as underwater characters.

Doesn't Lara's boyfriend, actor Marco Alcaraz feel jealous?

"No, I don't think so," says Alfred. "We all understand it's work."

His girlfriend, Yasmine who's now in Italy feels the same, he shares.

Alfred looks fit as a merman with his body in top shape now. "Medyo tumaba ako nu’ng panahon ng kampanya," says Alfred, who's now a councilor in the second district of Quezon City. "Tapos, nag-diet ako after."

His father's death recently even added to the reasons why he lost his appetite. Alfred was quite close to his father, whom he considered a "big inspiration." But he has to move on, and now, "bumabawi na lang ako ng kain sa taping," he says. "Mahirap magutom kasi ang hirap ng taping namin."

Happy Yipee Yehey ABS-CBN New Noontime Show

ABS-CBN has just revealed the title of their newest noontime show.

Replacing Pilipinas Win na Win! which aired its last episode last New Year’s eve, ABS-CBN’s new noontime show will be called “Happy Yipee Yehey.”

According to ABS-CBNNews.com, the noontime show will be hosted by 8 celebrities, and not just 4 as earlier reported. Four of them are former noontime show hosts and they are Randy Santiago (Magandang Tanghali Bayan), John Estrada (Magandang Tanghali Bayan), Mariel Rodriguez (Wowowee) and Toni Gonzaga (Eat Bulaga!).

They will be joined by Bentong, YouTube star Jober, Juanita Banana’s Bianca Manalo, and Pinoy Big Brother winner Melai Cantiveros.

“Happy Yipee Yehey” is set to premiere on February 12, after Showtime.

Imortal is Unbeatable

SECOND season na ng Imortal nina Angel Locsin at John Lloyd Cruz pero unbeatable pa rin sila sa kanilang timeslot.

Kahit ano pa ang itapat sa kanila ng ibang networks, to no avail. Sila talaga ang No. 1 sa kanilang timeslot.

Anyway, blooming si Ms. Angel nang humarap sa working press last Wednesday sa presscon ng Imortal. I was told that John Lloyd came in later, but we already left for we had to be at DWIZ before two in the afternoon.

At any rate, we never fail to watch Imortal almost on a nightly basis. Minsan lang kami mag-absent sa pano-nood nito kung may appointment. The other night, breath-taking talaga ang banatan ng mga bampira at taong lobo.

After that, nagdiwang ang mga tagasubaybay ni Jomari Yllana for he’s back once again at the fantaserye after many months of absence. Dramatic at veritably moving ang reunion nilang mag-ama at minsan pang pinatunayan ni John Lloyd na unbeatable siya sa mga ma-dadramang eksena.

Bongga rin ang acting highlights ni Vivian Velez who’s back in the role of Pu-nong Bantay after Ms. Locsin has been eased out of the position.

John Lloyd Cruz: Shaina is my immortal love

Matiyagang naghintay ang ilang press sa statement ni John Lloyd Cruz regarding sa latest brouhaha sa triangle kuno nila nina Ruffa Gutierrez at Shaina Magdayao pagkatapos ng prescon ng Imortal. At ito ang kanyang naging pahayag:

“Nagkausap na ang parties involved sa issue, sina Ruffa at Shaina through Star Magic. And they have agreed na hindi na magsasalita tungkol sa isyu para hindi na ito humaba pa. I think mismong si Ruffa ay nagsalita na sa kanyang show last Sunday regarding this and that’s that. On my part, I will be helping by not commenting also about the issue,” bitin na sagot ni Lloydie.

Hindi ba siya naaapektuhan na dahil sa isyung ito, nagkakaroon ng impression ang mga tao na isa siyang playboy?

In-assure ni JL sa press na he’s very happy with his relationship with present girlfriend Shaina and he’s hoping na magtagal talaga sila.

“Kung may immortal love man ako, that would be Shaina. Kasi I’m hoping na kapag sumakabilang-buhay na kami pareho, magkikita pa rin kami sa langit para magkasama ulit,” paniniyak ni JL.

Come Valentine’s Day, may work daw siya kasi it falls on a Monday na taping day ng Imortal. But he will make it a point na makapag-celebrate sila ni Shaina before or after Feb. 14. Samantala, nasa Book 2 na ang Imortal at lalong mas titindi ang mga kaganapan sa kanilang dalawa ni Angel Locsin sa istorya. Lloydie gave us a hint na malamang siya ang kagatin sa Book 2 instead of the other way around. Kaya abangan na lang ang magiging transformation niya. ASAP rocks Dinagyang festival

A long line of people lingered outside the Iloilo Sports Complex as early as 3 a.m. to catch a glimpse of ABS-CBN’s ASAP Rocks, which set its first airing in time for the Dinagyang festival. The venue sizzled with an estimated 60,000 fans and the stars flew all the way from Manila for the show.

High-powered, colorful production numbers led by Piolo Pascual, Gerald Anderson, Billy Crawford, Erik Santos, Karylle, Christian Bautista, Yeng Constantino, Jed Madela, Bea Alonzo, Vina Morales, Sam Milby and the ASAP Sessionistas wowed the crowd.

Ilonggos shouted and danced for joy and excitement when the floor was given to Kim Chiu, Maja Salvador, Shaina Magdayao, Iya Villania, Erich Gonzales, Empress Schuck, Enchong Dee, Sam Concepcion, Andi Eigenmann, Nikki Gil, Zaijian Jaranilla, Xyriel Manabat, Shoutout teenmates, ASAP Dance Supahstars and Supahdance Crew. The group stunned the crowd with their high-energy song and dance numbers.

Jovit Baldivino, XB Gensan and the Star Power Ultimate Final 5 surprised the Ilonggos with their performances. Pokwang and Cristine Reyes with ASAP Girls and ASAP Boys staged a showdown while John Prats, Rayver Cruz and Bugoy Cariño surprised everyone with their best dance moves.

Mutya Tops TV Ratings

Mutya with Mutya Orquia in the title role, swam its way to a strong debut as it garnered a 32.6 percent national rating according to Kantar Media last Jan. 31.

Beating the rival network’s show that only earned a 19.6 percent national rating, Mutya landed on the second spot of the Top 20 programs with its pilot episode.

The cast, staff and crew celebrated the success of their show’s premiere after learning the good news via a thanksgiving party. Directors Erick Salud and Jojo Saguin are very happy with how the viewers embraced their first episode.

Written by Pablo S. Gomez, Mutya is a fantasy novel about mermaids. It is a story of Cordelia, who unexpectedly falls in love with Irvin, the prince of sea.

The series is indeed a comeback project for Alfred Vargas as a Kapamilya after leaving the network seven years ago. His last teleserye on ABS-CBN was Sa Dulo ng Walang Hanggan.

Precious Lara Quigaman plays Cordelia in the series, also her comeback project after May Bukas Pa.

Joining the cast are Malou Crisologo, Sandy Andolong, Tess Antonio, Gary Lim and Pen Medina.

Sarah Geronimo nervous about teamup with Gerald

Sarah Geronimo is praying that Kimerald fans will accept her as another screen partner of Gerald Anderson. Sarah is working on a yet untitled movie under Star Cinema. Yes, she is a bit nervous, but she is hoping fans of Gerald and Kim Chiu will support her tandem with Gerald. “May kaunting kaba. Pero pinagdarasal ko po na sana matanggap ng supporters nila na ito ay trabaho lang,” she said.

Gerald and Sarah team up for the first time in this movie. And some sectors are wary Kimerald fans might not approve of the tandem. But Gerald is confident they will support his new partnership with Sarah. “I am thankful to the Kimeralds for their continued support. Pumupunta sa taping ko, pumupunta sila sa taping ni Kim. Nakikita ko ang suporta nila kahit hindi kami magkasama.”

Gerald tries not to compare Sarah to Kim. “Magkaiba sila ni Kim. They are very good with what they do. I am very blessed dahil si Kim nakasama ko, and now it’s Sarah. She’s very nice. Tahimik lang din at very professional.”

He also said that being pressured is part of the territory. “Kahit anong proyekto may pressure. Pero yon nga ang challenge sa amin. To try to give the very best in us,” Gerald said.

Gerald who was earlier rumored to be in a special friendship with Bea Alonzo was in good spirits when asked about Zanjoe Marudo, the rumored new love of Bea. “Everything is normal. Happy sila. Kami, we decided to be friends first.”
