Willie Revillame Says "So Sorry"

Willie Revillame, the producers of Willing Willie and TV5 sincerely and deeply apologized for the segment of the show featuring six-year-old Jan-Jan Suan which viewers may have found offensive or in bad taste. We wish to stress that there was never any intention to humiliate or abuse Jan-Jan or any contestant on the show.

Willing Willie is a program that was conceptualized to bring joy and hope and shine the spotlight on ordinary Filipinos. The program aims to provide a venue for everyone to show their talents, tell their stories and make their dreams come true. This is the thrust of everyone involved in the program, particularly its host, Willie Revillame.

Like most contestants on the show, Jan-Jan, accompanied by his aunt, joined the program to showcase his talent and play in a game segment in the hope of bringing home big prizes. Aiza Seguerra vs Willie Revillame on Twitter

Hindi kami magugulat kung magkaroon ng isyu sina Willie Revillame at Aiza Seguerra dala ng kaso ng batang si Jan-Jan Estrada na kontrobersyal ang pagsasayaw ng mala-macho dancer sa Willing Willie last Friday.

Maraming viewers ang nag-react at may mga artistang nag-tweet kabilang si Aiza.

Sa pahayag ni Willie na “Sa mga nagti-tweet na mga artista, tumigil na kayo. Tumulong na lang kayo sa kapuwa.”

Ang sagot ni Aiza sa Twitter ay: “Hindi lahat ng tao kaya mong takutin, patalsikin, paikutin, bilugin at patahimikin.”

Nauna rito, nag-tweet si Aiza ng “Willie R, kelan ka pa kaya matututo?” at “Ilang beses ka nang nag-apologize, pero nagbago ka ba?”

Anne Curtis wants to put up a pre-school

What do Anne Curtis and Bea Alonzo have in common aside from being two of the busiest actresses and most sought-after endorsers today?

Well, they are eager to earn a college degree. In fact, Anne said she might settle for online education for now.

After high school, her original dream was to become a lawyer like her Australian dad.

But since the course requires one to fully concentrate on one’s studies, Anne has settled for a teaching course.

“I want to be a pre-school teacher,” she declared. “I hope to be able to put up a pre-school. I would love to be a teacher to pre-schoolers. It would be a joy to have a hand in their first attempt as students.”

A bookworm, Bea has yet to decide on what course she’d take should the day come when she finds time to attend college.

“Siguro anything about business na lang,” she revealed. “Balak kong mag-put-up ng sariling business when I’m no longer active sa showbiz.”

Bea was only 13 and not yet a high school graduate when she joined showbiz. Notwithstanding her busy schedule as an actress, she finished high school at a private institution as an irregular student.

Karen Davila Off to Harvard University

Multi-awarded broadcast journalist Karen Davila is at the Harvard University in the United States to take a short course on “Global Leadership and Public Policy for the 21st Century” at the prestigious Harvard Kennedy School.

Karen is the only Filipina and one of only three delegates from the Philippines who were invited to the program, which is exclusively for the World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leaders of 2010.

Because of this, Karen said she may be absent for three weeks from the ABS-CBN late night newscast “Bandila” and the early morning news program “Headstart” on ANC, the ABS-CBN News Channel. Her course started on March 22.

This is not Karen’s first trip to Harvard. In 2009, she was one of the speakers at the annual conference of the Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations. Her talk on Gender Equality in Asia was one of the most attended that year.

The Young Global Leaders are selected yearly by a committee led by Jordan’s Queen Rania. Through this project, the World Economic Forum aims to recognize and further equip professionals under 40 years old, who have made significant achievements and contributions in their respective countries.

John at Shaina payag magkasama uli

Isa sa mga pinag-usapang split-ups sa showbiz ay ang paghihiwalay ng dating magkarelasyon na sina Shaina Magdayao at John Prats. Ngayon ay may kanya-kanya na silang special someone. Masaya si John sa relasyon nila ni Rachelle Ann Go habang masaya rin naman sina John Lloyd Cruz at Shaina sa kanilang relasyon.

Ngayon ay abala sina John at Shaina sa kani-kanilang career pero willing naman silang magkasama sa iisang project kung sakaling magkakaroon ng offer sa kanila.

Sabi ni Shaina, “We just have to be professional. Artista lang naman kami, nagtatrabaho kami so kung maganda ang istorya at magaling ang director, why not?”

Nakangiting sagot naman ni John, “Oo, wala namang problema iyon, kumbaga kung may project naman, bakit hindi?”

Ayon pa sa binata ay wala namang magiging problema sa kanila ni Rachelle Ann kung sakaling matutuloy ang project nina Shaina and John.

Sharon, Gabby to reunite in a movie

Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion will soon be doing their reunion movie. Sharon enthused, “I think the movie with Gabby can happen this year. Or early next year. I like the team up, it’s Sharon and Gabby. It’s my favorite love team. I am not talking about ‘yong feeling Sharon ha. Walang kaso sa akin‘ yon.”

“We have suggestions. Pero we have to follow the studio. But I am really looking forward to doing that movie para naman sa gustong manuod,” Gabby explained.

But is Sharon ready to introduce Gabby to her kids Frankie and Miel? “Kahit naman gustuhin kong itago na ayoko naman, kasi ako ito e. Lahat ng peklat mo, lahat ng kagandahan mo, eto ka e. Sarah Geronimo vs Angeline Quinto?

Is Angeline Quinto, Star Power First Female Superstar a threat to Sarah Geronimo? Angeline swept audiences off their feet when she had a duet with Sarah in ASAP Rocks. Sarah and Angeline were pitted against one another way back in 2002, when they both joined Star for a Night where Sarah emerged as the grand winner.

Some sectors are now saying that Princess Sarah is threatened by Angeline’s arrival to the music scene. “Masama yong mag isip na may threat. Baka ma psycho ako. Hindi maganda yong ganung ugali,” she explained. Sarah is in fact happy that Angeline’s dreams are coming true. “I am very happy for her. When she won, I was ecstatic.”

Her duet with Angeline was a tension filled performance, admitted Sarah. “My knees wobbled. Hindi naman kami dapat kabahan but the thing is parang laging may showdown. Parang contest uli. Sana hindi na ganoon ang production number namin para masaya at magawa namin ng maayos.”

Sarah knows the fact that she and Angeline will always be compared to each other. “Laging may darating na mas okey, mas okey sa yo. And that is the challenge, to sustain whatever that you have. Also we just have to pray. God has plans for all of us.”

She also knows that there is time for everything and everyone. “Now it is Angeline’s time. Ako, kailangan ko na lang pangalagaan whatever that I have.”

Gerald Anderson flattered for being Sarah's 'first kiss'

PALABAS na sa March 23 ang pelikulang Catch Me I’m In Love na pinagsasamahan nina Gerald Anderson at Sarah Geronimo sa unang pagkakataon kaya excited ang fans na malaman kung may kissing scene ang dalawa sa pelikula.

“Naku, abangan na lang po nila,” matipid na sagot ni Gerald.

Ayaw pang idetalye ni Gerald ang tungkol sa kissing scene at kung nagkaroon nga nito sa pelikula. Pero if ever daw na meron nga, tiyak daw na matutuwa ang fans.

“It’s my privilege na magkaroon ng kissing scene with Sarah. Sobrang nakaka-flatter ’yon lalo na kung ako ang first kiss niya on screen,” dagdag pa niya.

Parehong broken hearted sina Sarah at Gerald habang ginagawa nila ang Catch Me I’m In Love kaya tinanong ang actor kung hindi ba naging way si Sarah para mapasaya ang kanyang puso.

“’Yung nangyari naman sa akin, last 2010 pa ’yon. So, parang okey na ako. Naka-move-on na ako. Kinalimutan ko na ’yon at nag-focus lang ako talaga sa trabaho ko. ’Yung kay Sarah, hindi ko talaga alam what really happened. Ayoko namang magtanong at makialam.

“Pero as a friend, I’m always here for her. Kapag kailangan niya ako, nandito lang ako,” paniniguro pa ni Gerald.

Hindi ba sila posibleng ma-develop?

“’Yung friendship namin ang posibleng ma-develop pa nang husto kahit siguro tapos na ang shooting ng pelikula. Mabait na tao kasi si Sarah at ang pamilya niya,” maigsi niyang tugon.

Samantala, first time din ni Gerald to work with Direk Mae Cruz.

“Sobra ang focus ni Direk Mae. Ini-explain niya lahat tapos ’yung iba, ginagawa pa niya. Ginagaya na lang namin siya. So, ang laki ng tulong sa amin ni Direk Mae,” kuwento ni Gerald.

Naikuwento rin ng aktor na naka-relate siya sa character ni Eric na ginagampanan niya sa Catch Me I’m In Love.

“Si Eric kasi, mahal na mahal niya ang pamilya niya kahit hindi sila magkasundo ng tatay niya. Ginawa pa rin niya ang gusto ng tatay niya. Ganu’n din ako sa pamilya ko... ’yung mga sacrifices na ginagawa natin. Siguro ’yon ’yung pagkakapareha namin,” paliwanag ni Gerald.

Eh, ano pa ba ang dapat abangan ng mga tao sa movie?

“Dapat nilang abangan ’yung tambalan namin ni Sarah. First time ito. Tapos sa movie pa. Pareho kaming kinakabahan. Pero iisa lang ang goal namin, ang maibigay ’yung best namin at maganda ang kalabasan ng pelikula. Sa tingin ko, na-achieve naman namin ’yon,” proud pang pahayag ng binata.

WHEN kart racer champion-turned-actor-cum-tv host Matteo Guidecilli was offered to play a suitor of Sarah Geronimo in the upcoming movie Catch Me I’m In Love, he could not believe his luck, he said, at first.

From the start, he was told, this would be only a short, but definitely, a defining role. Thus, there was every chance for him to be noticed depending on how he tackled his role. How he can do it, since Sarah’s actual leading man in the movie is Gerald Anderson, is all up to him, this, he knew.

Matteo knew, likewise, that this was his chance to impress Sarah, whom he had long been admiring from a distance. “Basta gusto ko ang kanyang simplicity,” ani Matteo. “Her sweetness, naivete and innocence.”

Nu’ng hindi pa kilala ni Sarah si Matteo, he confessed he would tag along with Billy Crawford, a fellow Swatch, the timepiece from Switzerland endorser, so he can see her. Yes, up close, that is.

Could Sarah be one of the reasons why he decided na mag-artista?

“In a way, yes,” sagot ni Matteo. “Noong una, purely curiosity lang ang reason why I decided to go into acting. But now, I’m starting to love the job.”

Kim Chiu graduates

KIM Chiu is now a high school graduate. Along with other alternative learning students, Kim received her diploma the other day at the Tanghalang Balagtas or Folk Arts Theater.

Kim was also asked to stand as speaker in said commencement exercises. In her speech, she said: “Lagi nating tandaan na ang kahalagahan ng buhay ay hindi lang natin mararating sa ating sarili. Libre pong mangarap. Kaya sa lahat na may gustong abutin sa buhay, isipin na lang po natin na hindi imposibleng mangarap. Katulad ko, nangarap ako na magtapos ng pag-aaral kaya congratulations sa ating lahat,” naiiyak si Kim habang nagsasalita sa stage.

Kim’s schooling was put into a halt after winning the first teen edition of Pinoy Big Brother. But determined as she is, she enrolled at the special education offered by the Department of Education. Suprisingly, Kim was able to juggle work and education.

“In between tapings po,” she said on how she did it. “Pag dinner, I read my lessons. Nakaraos naman po.”

Kim plans to take up a business course if given a chance next sem. She wants to be a businesswoman.

It explains why lovelife isn’t her priority right now, but she admits that she and former boyfriend, Gerald Anderson are in good terms. Or could it be that they would end up with each other in the end?

Angel Locsin felt doubly happy when told that she also emerged no. 6 sa Google’s Most Influental Women.

Bea Alonzo happy with Zanjoe

BEA Alonzo at her launch as Lactacyd new endorser at Annabel’s yesterday kept on nudging the press to refrain from asking questions about her and Gerald Anderson.

“Wag na nating pag-usapan ang past, please,” the very pretty (in pink) Bea said. “Ayaw ko nang ma-quote tungkol diyan.”

It is now known that she and actor Zanjoe Marudo are dating, but she stressed that they’re still friends. “Ang hirap kasing mag-commit ngayon, kasi ang dami kong ginagawa,” she clarified. “Basta I am happy where I am now.”

It has been speculated that Zanjoe came at a time when she was nursing a broken heart due to her breakup with Gerald, but Bea clarified that Zanjoe has been there even before Gerald. “I wouldn’t put it that way,” she said. “Matagal ko na siyang kaibigan at hindi naman ‘yung dumating siya para saluhin ako. It’s different. Iba itong chapter sa buhay ko. ‘Yung friendship kasi namin, spontaneous. Hindi sinadya ‘yung dahil malungkot ako, o may pain akong nararamdaman saka siya biglang pumasok sa buhay ko.”

They started dating last year when she felt she had to come out of her shell. “Dati kasi, wala naman akong hilig um-attend ng mga parties,” she explained. “Eh nagkaayaan lang, tapos du’n na nag-umpisa.” Bea found Zanjoe a breeze to be with. “Ano siya eh, magaan. Tapos, masaya ako. We connect.” But Bea doesn’t want to be unfair to him if she’d be committed. “Mahirap kasi, baka mag-expect lang kami sa isa’t isa tapos ’di naman matutupad,” she explained. “Kasi ang relationship, it’s a responsibility. Kung may oras lang, tapos pwede naman kami, we go out. Sinusundo niya ako, lumalabas kami. We do a lot of things together that I cannot share.”

Although they are seldom, their dates are “meaningful” to her. “He gives all his effort, may chocolates, may flowers, pero talagang hanggang d’un lang muna ang kaya ko,” she said.

Meanwhile, Bea clarified that she did not replace Judy Ann Santos as the new Lactacyd endorser. “Parang ako lang ang sumunod, but I don’t consider it na ako ang pumalit.”

Bongga ang press launch ng bagong seryeng Nasaan Ka Eliza sa ABS-CBN Trellis last Tuesday night. Beach kasi ang ginawang setting at nagkaroon ng Hawaiian party after the preview and presscon.

Kumpletong dumating ang buong cast sa pangunguna ni Melissa Ricks, gumaganap na Eliza, Albert Martinez, Agot Isidro, Eric Fruoctuso, Mickey Ferriols, Aldred Gatchallan, Franco Daza, Christopher Roxas, Desiree del Valle, Joem Bascon, Allen Dizon, Isabella de Leon at Alexa Ilacad.

Masayang-masaya ang bidang si Melissa dahil pagkatapos ng mahabang paghihintay, dumating din ang biggest break.

Ayon sa young actress, hindi siya nainip sa paghihintay dahil in the first place ay wala naman siyang dine-demand from the management.

“Ako naman, I never asked for a lead role, I just wanted work, I just wanted to act, I just wanted to give impression to people na kaya kong gampanan ang mga ibinibigay sa akin. And sobrang thankful ako na ’yung management, ipinagkatiwala sa akin itong role kahit alam nilang medyo conservative ako, they gave me a role that could really challenge me.

“It doesn’t matter kung I waited six years, five years, one year, as long as I’m given what I deserve,” say ni Melissa.

Dahil launching niya ito, ano ba ang kaya niyang gawin sa serye?

“Dahil launching ko, lahat ng makakaya ko, gagawin ko. Hindi ko sinasabi na magbo-bold ako or super sexy, basta whatever the role calls for, gagawin ko.”

Ano naman ang sabi ng boyfriend niyang si Jake Cuenca sa daring scenes niya sa Nasaan Ka Eliza?

“He’s very supportive naman, pero hindi pa niya napapanood ang mga eksena, so, hindi ko lang alam kung ano ang magiging reaksyon niya kapag nakita na niya. Pero alam niya, sinabi ko sa kanya, and he knows about the story also, alam niya ang story ng Nasaan Ka Eliza.”

Speaking of Jake, nasaan na ba ang relasyon nila ngayon?

“Ako, basta, masayang-masaya ako na alam kong may taong nagke-care sa akin, may taong inaalagaan ako and alam ko na mahal naman niya ako.”

Bagama’t umamin na si Jake na talagang may relasyon sila and in fact, ayon nga sa aktor ay two years na sila, si Melissa ay hindi pa makaaamin nang diretso pero dating daw sila ngayon at nagke-care sa isa’t isa.

May anniversary rin daw sila kaya say ng mga reporter, ’yun na ’yon.

“Eh, ’di ’yun na ’yon,” pagsang-ayon naman niya.

Anyway, ipina-preview sa press ang first three episodes ng Nasaan Ka Eliza at wala pang ipinakikitang leading man si Melissa.

Maging sa presscon, wala ring ipinakilalang kapareha ng young actress sa serye kaya ang lahat ay nagtatanong kung sinong aktor ang makakapareha niya.

Pero ayaw sabihin ni Melissa kung sino at abangan na lang daw.

Basta ang clue na ibinigay niya, kung dati raw ay si Matt Evans lang ang partner niya, ngayon, marami na.

Binuking din ni Direk Wenn Deramas na sa shooting nila ng Who’s That Girl? pag matagal silang nagsi-set up at narinig na nilang kumakanta si Anne, nagmamadali na silang magsimula ng shooting.

Confident si Anne na magiging bongga ang recording career niya oras na matapos ang gagawin niyang album.

Love raw talaga niya ang music at walang makakapigil sa kanya.

May sagot si Maja Salvador hinggil sa isyung galit na galit sa kanya ang kamag-anak na si Deborah Sun dahil inisnab daw siya ng young actress nang magkita sila sa isang event.

Sa panayam kay Maja Salvador ni Luis Manzano last Saturday sa Entertainment Live, inamin ng young actress na hindi niya kilala si Deborah. “Hindi ko pa kasi nakikilala lahat ang Salvador. So, kung nagkasama Man kami sa isang event, sorry po kung hindi ko nakilala. Kasi, hindi ko pa siya nakikilala talaga,” paliwanag ni Maja.

Hindi rin daw niya matandaan ang insidente na nagkasama sila sa isang event.

“Hindi ko alam kung saan kami nagsama na event or family gathering man lang pero hindi ko pa nakikilala si Miss Deborah talaga, pero sorry po kung nagsama tayo sa isang event or gathering man lang na hindi ko kayo nakilala or napansin,” pahayag pa ng young actress.

Si Deborah ay kapatid ni Phillip Salvador at ng ama ni Maja kaya lumalabas na tiyahin siya ng young actress. Understandable naman na hindi siya nakikita ni Maja dahil matagal nanirahan ang aktres sa Amerika noon.

Samantala, ngayong gabi na magsisimula ang much-awaited teleseryeng Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin na pinagbibidahan nina Maja, Andi Eigenmann at Coco Martin with a powerhouse cast na sabi nga ni Ronaldo Valdez, ngayon n’yo lang makikitang nagsama-sama sa isang TV series.

Dahil sa pagpasok ng Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin ay magkakaroon ng pagbabago sa primetime slot ng ABS-CBN. Mapapanood ang serye pagkatapos ng Mutya saka pa lang susunod ang Mara Clara, susundan ng Imortal at pagkatapos ay Green Rose.

Star Magic talent Erich Gonzales dares go sensual as she plays the title role in Maria la del Barrio, an adaptation of a Mexican telenovela that starred the much-admired Mexican actress, Thalia.

Erich wasn’t the popular young actress she is now when the said Mexican telenovela first hit the local tv screen.

But she managed to watch the series from a CD that was lent to her by ABS-CBN.

Nasaan Ka Elisa - Trailer Video

“Nasaan Ka Elisa?” is the Philippine adaptation of the hit Chilean telenovela “Donde Esta Elisa?” (Where is Elisa?). According to reports, the said telenovela was inspired from the international best-selling Swedish novel “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.”

Young actress Melissa Ricks will play the role of Elisa in the local version produced by ABS-CBN.

Members of its cast include Albert Martinez, Desiree del Valle, Agot Isidro, Vina Morales, Eric Fructuoso, Franco Daza, Christopher Roxas and Aldred Gatchalian.

Here’s how it happened, ani Enchong, who was a champion swimmer noong panahong nag-aaral pa siya sa De La Salle University: Ang swimming coach daw niya ang tumawag sa kanya at humiling na ma-meet at makilala nga ni Simon si Kim.

Simon personally admitted on TV na crush niya si Kim at wish nga niyang makilala ito.

Kim has yet to grant a TV interview on how her first encounter with Simon went.

TV PATROL nanguna sa labanan

Para sa buwan ng mga puso, napunta sa Kapamilya ang puso ng mas nakararaming mga Pinoy nationwide lalo na pagdating sa primetime matapos talunin ng ABS-CBN ang kalabang istasyon sa average audience share na 41% kumpara sa GMA 7 na 31% lang.

Sa pagbabalita sa primetime, wagi ang ABS-CBN sa pamamagitan ng TV Patrol.

Mas maraming tahanan sa bansa ang nakatutok sa TV Patrol nina Noli De Castro, Korina Sanchez, at Ted Failon na may average rating na 26.7% ngayong Pebrero. Talo ang tambalang Mike Enriquez at Mel Tiangco sa 24 Oras ng GMA na nagtala ng 20.5% at mas dehado ang game show na Willing Willie ng TV5 na may 11% rating lang.

Pagdating sa drama, mas umariba rin ang Kapamilya. Nanlalamon pa rin nationwide sa ratings ang Mara Clara (34.9%) na sinusundan ng Mutya (31.8%), at Imortal (26.4%).

Maging sa Mega Manila na tinuturing na balwarte ng GMA 7 ay hindi nakapalag ang mga pambatong show ng Kapuso sa dekalibreng mga seryeng handog ng ABS-CBN.

Samantala, siyam sa top 10 most-watched TV program nationwide ay mula sa ABS-CBN.

Nangunguna pa rin dito ang Mara Clara (34.9%), na sinusundan ng Mut­­­ya (31.8%), Noah (30%), Pilipinas Got Talent (28.6%), TV Patrol (26.7%), Imortal (26.4), Rated K (23.9%), Maalaala Mo Kaya (22.5%), at Goin’ Bulilit (21.3%) na nakuha ang hu­ling puwesto.

Sa pangkalahatan, ABS-CBN pa rin ang na­nanatiling numero uno sa bansa sa audience share nito na 36% para sa buwan ng Pebrero.

Sa Balance Luzon o areas sa labas ng Mega Manila, mas maraming tahanan sa bansa ang tumutok sa ABS-CBN (38%) vs GMA (35%).

Sa Visayas, mahigit sa doble ang bilang ng tahanan na nakatutok sa ABS-CBN (54%) kumpara sa GMA (24%). At sa Mindanao, mas maraming tahanan ang tumutok sa ABS-CBN (53%) vs GMA (21%).

ABS-CBN Widens TV Ratings Lead

ABS-CBN Corporation, the country’s largest multimedia conglomerate, widened its lead over rival TV stations in February with a 41% audience share on primetime (6PM-12MN).

Data from Kantar Media/TNS show that ABS-CBN improved its primetime audience share last month to enjoy a ten-point lead over GMA Network’s 31% and more than twice the audience share of ABC TV5’s 16%.

Leadership in primetime is important for a TV network because it has the most number of viewers. February’s figures show that TV Patrol continues to be the most-watched news program with an average rating of 26.7% nationwide vs 24 Oras’ 20.5% and Willing Willie’s 11%.

ABS-CBN primetime teleseryes Mara Clara (34.9%), Mutya (31.8%), and Imortal (26.4%) have beaten GMA’s Dwarfina (17.8%), Machete (17%), and I Heart You Pare (16.2%) nationwide.

Interestingly, GMA Network lost its primetime leadership last month in Mega Manila, the area that includes viewer-rich Metro Manila and which the Kapuso network considers as its stronghold. ABS-CBN’s Mara Clara (28%), Mutya (23.5%), and Imortal (22.1%) trounced GMA’s Dwarfina (21.4%), Machete (20.2%), and I Heart You Pare (20.6%).

In the top 10 list of most-watched TV programs nationwide, ABS-CBN secured nine slots. Mara Clara (34.9) topped the list followed by Mutya (31.8), Noah (30%), Pilipinas Got Talent (28.6), TV Patrol (26.7%), Imortal (26.4%), Rated K (23.9%), Maalaala Mo Kaya (22.5%), and Goin Bulilit (21.3%) getting the last spot.

Overall, ABS-CBN remains as the country’s number one TV network with a 36% audience share for the month of February, higher than GMA’s 35% and ABC TV5’s 13%.

In Balance Luzon or areas outside Mega Manila, ABS-CBN’s audience share averaged 38% vs GMA’s 35%.

In the Visayas, five out of every ten households watched ABS-CBN (54%) or more than double the number of households that watched GMA (24%).

The same trend was seen in Mindanao. Almost six out of ten households watched ABS-CBN (53%) while only a fifth of them tuned in to GMA (21%).

Industry sources say ABS-CBN continues to be the most efficient for advertisers especially on primetime wherein most of the ad placements are made, while GMA’s core primetime offerings are less cost-efficient vs ABS-CBN and ABC TV5.

ABS-CBN generated net income of P2.9 billion for the first nine months of 2010, as it sustained into the third quarter the strong growth momentum in regular advertising revenues in the first semester. This profit level is more than double the net income of P1.3 billion in the first nine months of 2009.

Kantar Media, a global market research group, offers audience research measurement systems in 32 countries. It started releasing its Philippine television audience measurement data in February 2009 with panels composed of 1,370 representative households covering urban Philippines and reporting on seven sectors namely the National Capital Region, North Luzon, Central Luzon, South Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

ABS-CBN shifted to Kantar Media/TNS after filing a case vs. AGB Nielsen Media Research for failing to comply with its request to investigate alleged cheating and data tampering in TV ratings. The case is still pending in court.

Kristine Hermosa has cyst in ovary

KALAT na sa youtube ang kasal nina Oyo Sotto at Kristine Hermosa na ginanap last January 12 sa Batangas.

Marami ang natutuwa sa naturang kasalan dahil very solemn nga raw ito at higit sa lahat, bakas talaga sa mukha nina Oyo at Kristine ang kasiyahan habang ikinakasal.

Simple pero elegante ang kasuotan nina Kristine at Oyo. Maging si KC Concepcion naaliw na naka-rubber shoes ang mga ito. Ayon sa parents ni Oyo na sina Dina Bonnevie at Vic Sotto, gusto na nilang magkaroon na agad ng apo sa newly-wed couple.

Pero say ni Dina, kahit na gustung-gusto na niyang magka-apo sa panganay na anak, mukhang hindi daw ito agad matutupad. Diumano, may cyst si Kristine sa ovary kaya mahihirapan daw itong magbuntis.

Nalungkot nga raw si Oyo nang mag-negative ang pregnancy test ni Kristine.

Tum, My Pledge Of Love with Robin at Mariel

Pagkatapos magpakasal sa India nina Robin Padilla at Mariel Rodriguez noong isang taon ay inabangan din ng fans ang napabalitang pagpapakasal ng dalawa sa simbahan. Nakatakda dapat ang church wedding noong nakaraang Pasko pero hindi ito natuloy dahil sa ilang mga bagay na may kinalaman daw sa dating asawa ni Robin na si Liezl Sycangco. “May mga papeles na hinihintay para sa divorce namin, ‘di umabot yung divorce paper, ‘yung galing sa Syria,” paliwanag ni Robin.

Muling nagplano sina Mariel at Binoe na magpakasal sa simbahan noong Valentine’s day ngunit sa ikalawang pagkakataon ay hindi muna nila ito itinuloy. “Ito naman pong Valentine’s day kami ay nabigla sa play date namin, nabigyan ng sapat na atensiyon iyon. Sa pagkakataong ito ayaw namin na kami lang ang nakakaalam, ayaw namin na may magtampo, lahat kayo nandoon,” pahayag ni Robin.

Ayon pa sa aktor ay sa darating na June nila ulit pinaplanong magpakasal pero ayaw naman daw ni Mariel i-pressure ang kanyang asawa. “I don’t think it’s proper na kailangan Babe, kailan ba? This one is just for the friends, family and people ‘yung the one with God, tapos na naman,” pahayag naman ni Mariel.

Samantala, excited na ang mag-asawa sa kanilang pelikulang Tum, My Pledge Of Love na malapit na ring ipalabas. Pinaghirapan daw nila nang husto ang nasabing pelikula para sa kanilang mga supporters. “Lahat ng eksena po namin ay malaki, diyan na pumapasok si Mariel, nakita niya walang humahawak ng ilaw, siya humahawak ng ilaw. Halimbawa nakita niya ‘yung isang kamera, dalawa lang ang cinematographer namin. Gagawin niya ay kukunin niya ‘yung kamera, Babe saan mo gustong anggulo nito,” nakangiting kuwento ni Robin.

“Siya (Robin) po talaga lahat, siya ang nag-conceptualize, nag-isip mula sa script, idea niya po talaga. Bilang humble po siya at generous siya, lagi po na­ming pinag-aawayan kasi written and directed by Robin Padilla, ayaw niya iyon. Gusto niya sini-share niya ‘yung glory sa mga kasamahan namin,” kuwento naman ni Mariel.
