Pilipinas Got Talent 2 Semi-Finalists

It’s double the tension the second time around as the Big Three judges once again deliberated and determined the 36 semi-finalists who will advance in the next round of the ABS-CBN talent-reality show Pilipinas Got Talent 2.

Out of 174 acts who made it through the audition stage, judges Kris Aquino, Ai-Ai de las Alas and Freddie Garcia named 19 semi-finalists from Luzon, eight from Visayas and nine from Mindanao.

Semi-finalists from Luzon include Angel Calalas, B4, John Michael Narag, Maribeth Callanta, Dance Selection, Zaldy Carlos, Collins Gutierrez Genevieve Arandia, Fernan Santuyo aka Madonna Pianista, Filogram, Kenny Padalla, Bourbon (Feliz Ria Pichay), Joy’s Diva, Kapidamu Band, and Marcelito Pomoy.

Virgilio del Carmen Jr., Jose Emmanuel Cubil, First Beat Effect, DJP Trio, Jacqueline Schubert, Karinyoso Boys and Leoniel Enopia and Elizabeth Dazo, on the other hand, will represent the Visayas regions.

Meanwhile, Mindanao acts that made it through the semis are Skeights, Lapinid Sisters, Happy Feet, Rafael Pavia, Next Generation Band, Buildex Pagales, Suwahib Samplidan and Larvae.

The first semi-final round kicks off tomorrow, April 30, at the PAGCOR Grand Theater with the first performance night for the second season. Magician Romarico Sanorio aka Rico The Magician, blind singer-pianist Jeremie Tampoy, singing Madrigal Siblings, kid crooner Brian Brady, acoustic duo Light Gauge Acoustic, and breakdancing Freestylers will be competing.

Who among them will be hailed as the first set of grand finalists? Two official grand finalists will be named—one based on the public’s text votes and another one by the judges—during the live results night to be held on May 1.

Charice feels 'really blessed,' thanks Pacman

Unlike some of her predecessors, Charice perhaps doesn’t have to ‘re-study’ how to sing the Lupang Hinirang before she mounts the ring at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas during the bout between Manny Pacquiao and Shane Mosley next Sunday, May 8 (Manila Time).

The personal choice of Pacquiao, Charice posted the following entry in her official Twitter account: Thank you, Sir Manny Pacquiao, for choosing me to sing the Philippine National Anthem for your fight. Feel really blessed.

Bandila anchors Ces Oreña Drilon, Julius Babao and Karen Davila now reach out to more Filipinos and deliver the news throughout the day with the launch of the microsite http://bandila.abs-cbnnews.com yesterday.

Carrying the interactive look and feel that Bandila is known for, the microsite aims to translate the Bandila TV experience to an online experience with streaming of the latest newscast and posts on the night’s biggest news including the amazing and inspiring stories from segments Patok! and Astig!

Mula Sa Puso stars hold 1st fans day

A jam-packed crowd filled SM Fairview last Thursday as Mula sa Puso stars JM de Guzman, Lauren Young and Enrique Gil spent an afternoon with their fans.

Fans screamed with the mere sight of the three stars who rendered song numbers and played games with lucky audience members.

Girls couldn’t help but aggressively hug, kiss, and pinch JM and Enrique whenever they got near them.

The three were also happy to see their respective fan groups, which proved how they have become even more famous with Mula sa Puso. JM’s fans called the Hukbong JM, Lauren’s Laurenaticz, and Enrique’s Quenatics came in full force just to show how much they support their idols.

Meanwhile, JM was very overwhelmed when fans of the late actor Rico Yan approached him and told him how much they are supporting him and the show. JM told his co-star and Rico’s older brother Bobby Yan about this and recognized the group JM was referring to as the one that supported Rico.

The whole country is definitely hooked with the remake of Mula sa Puso. The plot thickens this week as Magda (Dawn Zulueta) bravely fights back at Selina (Eula Valdez). Gabriel (JM) and Via (Lauren), on the other hand, are falling for each other but what will Michael (Enrique) do to stop it?

Angel Locsin Updates

Nakasama pala pareho ni Angel Locsin sina Pilar Pilapil at AJ Perez sa kanyang first series with ABS-CBN na Lobo. Kaya apektado raw siya sa mga balitang nababasa niya tungkol sa dalawa. Although, ’di niya sasabihing naging very close sila to them, since hindi pa siya lubusang “at home” noon sa ABS-CBN.

“It’s an open book naman where I came from,” ani Angel. “Kaya, naninimbang pa ako sa mga kasamahan ko lalo na kay Tita Pilar who have been in the business for sometime.

“Kay AJ, since he was just starting din, tahimik lang siya kapag wala kami sa harap ng kamera.

“Pero, mapi-feel mo na mabait siya.

“I’m praying for both of them. For Tita Pilar, for her immediate and complete recovery.

“And for AJ, for the repose of his soul.

“Showbiz will surely miss AJ,” pahayag pa ni Angel. “Lalo na kaming kanyang mga Kapamilya.”

Ayon kay Angel nabasa na niya ang English script ng movie na gagawin niya for a Jakarta film firm. And part of the script would require her to speak in Bahasa, the Indonesian language.

Which she thinks, will not be a problem, since alam niyang the producer will provide her with a dialogue coach, both in English and Bahasa.

The film is titled The Promise and will co-star her with Indonesian actor.

“Actually, ang pinag-uusapan na lang ngayon ay ang talent fee,” someone close to Angel said. “Kapag nagkasundo ang panig ng Indonesian producer at ang talent manager ni Angel, go na ito.

“Since it will only take 30 days to do the movie, feel ng panig ni Angel, ABS-CBN and Star Cinema will allow her to do it.

End of June or first week ng July ang start ng movie.

By then, tapos na ang kanyang series na Imortal, na hanggang after Holy Week pa ang taping.

Nai-showing na rin ang movie niyang In The Name Of Love with Aga Muhlach na naka-schedule ang opening sa more than 100 theaters nationwide on May 11.

May 28, magkakaroon ng premiere ng In The Name of Love in Los Angeles, California.

ABS-CBN Official Statement on AJ Perez Death

Here’s the official statement of ABS-CBN sent to Funfare Update by Bong Osorio, Corporate Communications head of the network on AJ Perez's death.

Kapamilya talent AJ Perez passed away early Sunday morning after being rushed to a hospital in Tarlac. Together with his father, two road managers, a driver and an event marshal, they met a vehicular accident on their way back to Manila after a provincial show. ABS-CBN sympathizes with AJ’s family on his untimely demise, and urges everyone to pray for the eternal repose of AJ’s soul and for the family and loved ones he left behind. ABS-CBN continues to help AJ’s family during this difficult and discomforting time and to attend to the needs of the others that got hurt in the unfortunate accident.

AJ’s remains lie at a chapel at La Salle Greenhills where the wake for Rico Yan was also held in 2002. AJ was nine years old at that time and in grade school.

The Perez family will soon announce the burial plans.

AJ Perez Dead at 18

AJ Perez was pronounced dead at exactly 12:20 a.m. today due to a vehicular accident.

According to reports from various celebrities on Twitter, AJ Perez died due to multiple head injuries caused by the highway accident. AJ, his dad, personal assistant, security and driver were on their way back to Manila from Dagupan City’s Bangus Festival event when their van collided with a Partas bus and a truck along Pangasinan.

The 18 year-old Kapamilya actor was declared dead on arrival at Paniqui Tarlac hospital.

AJ was part of the Kapamilya Karavan at the Bangus Festival which was held yesterday, April 16, at the Dagupan City Plaza.

Showbiz reporter and talk show host Ogie Diaz posted the following on Twitter: “Galing ng Dagupan, pauwi na. Tulog lahat sa van. Sa Tarlac, biglang bumangga sa trak. Bago pa nadala si AJ Perez sa ospital, wala nang buhay.”

Diaz added that the truck hit the side of the van where the actor was resting.

And as expected, dahil sa kanyang image as a sexy star, umaatikabo ang love scenes niya with Carlo, who plays her husband sa movie.

ABS-CBN 2010 Net Income Jumps 87%

ABS-CBN delivered consolidated revenues of P32.2 billion from advertising and consumer sales, posting an increase of P7.3 billion or 30% year-on-year.

ABS-CBN’s advertising revenues rose 50% or P7.3 in 2010 reaching P21.7 billion. This increase is attributable to the surge in total advertising minutes sold, programmed rate increase that took effect in February 2010 and political advertisement.

Consumer sales in 2010 amounted to P10.4 billion, posting a slight 1% increase or P60 million from a year ago, mainly from Sky Cable. Sky Cable contribution share to total consumer sales increased to 49% with it its subscription and service revenue contributing P3.9 billion, or P348 million more than 2009. ABS-CBN’s Global contribution share amounted to 38%, while ABS-CBN Film Production, Inc., better known as Star Cinema, contribution share amounted to 13%.

Total expenses grew by P3.8 billion or 20% year-on-year to P23.4 billion, driven mostly by higher production costs and general and administrative expenses (GAEX). Total production costs in 2010 rose by P1.6 billion or 25% to P7.9 billion, as ABS-CBN strategically increased programming hours of in-house produced primetime dramas, afternoon programs, and variety shows to meet viewer needs and advertiser demand. GAEX rose 32% or P2.0 billion year-on-year to P8.2 billion, inclusive of P1.3 billion one-time expenses for performance-based pay and non-recurring corporate initiatives.

Net income attributable to shareholders for 2010 is P3.2 billion, a P1.5 billion or 87% improvement over last year’s net income.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) reached P8.6 billion, yielding an EBITDA margin of 27% for 2009, and 33% or P2.1 billion better than 2009 EBITDA of P6.5 billion.

Capital expenditure and film and program rights acquisition in 2010 amounted to P3.7 billion, P738 million or 25% higher than the level of spending from previous year.

ABS-CBN maintained its national audience share and ratings leadership with total-day audience share averaging 43% in 2010, going by Kantar Media National TV Ratings’ figures.

ABS-CBN’s programs continued to dominate the Top 20 programs list. In 2010, ABS-CBN programs held over 15 of the top 20 slots for weekdays and top weekends. Weekday and week-end entertainment programs launched or aired in 2010— Agua Bendita, Dahil May Isang Ikaw, Habang May Buhay, Imortal, Kokey@Ako, Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo, Mara Clara (remake), Noah, Pilipinas Got Talent, Tanging Yaman, Wansapanataym, Rosalka and the Agimat Series with Ang Mahiwagang Daigdig ni Elias Paniki, Pepeng Agimat, Tiagong Akyat and Tonyong Bayawak—kept the audience enthralled and enjoyed national program ratings prominence in their respective timeslots.

The high-rating entertainment shows were ably complemented by erstwhile but constantly relevant and evolving news and current affairs shows— Bandila, Matanglawin, Rated K, TV Patrol, Umagang Kay Ganda, to name a few. These programs have become a staple not only in the delivery of news but also a source of knowledge.

Sky Cable pursued its thrust to enhance viewing experience for its customers with continued move towards digitization. Together with the introduction of a tiered pricing mechanism, penetration rates in cable TV viewing steadily improved.

In 2010, Sky Cable also launched the Sky Broadband Ultra High Speed Internet connection subscription that offers speeds of up to 112 mbps. This offering greatly complemented the revolutionary online access to entertainment product- iWantv, which also originated in 2010.

ABS-CBN Global’s overall viewer count increased by 2% year-on-year, with strong double-digit subscriber growth in cable TV subscriptions. With new cable distribution partnerships driving subscriber acquisition, overall subscriber count grew at a double-digit rate in Canada. In Australia, satellite TV subscriber generated a 10% growth as affordable and flexible plans continued to attract new direct-to-home subscribers.

ABS-CBN Film Productions, Inc. continued to produce and or co-produce compelling genres that are well received by the public. Queen's welcome awaits Shamcey in General Santos

The General Santos City government is getting ready to give this year’s 2011 Bb. Pilipinas-Universe Shamcey Supsup a grand welcome when she returns from Manila.

Supsup, who was born and grew up in village of Katangawan, is considered by the residents of General Santos City as their newest “treasure.”

Supsup, a magna cum laude graduate from the University of the Philippines and a topnotcher in the architecture board exam, won the title last Sunday.

Glenville Gonzales, tourism officer of the city government, said preparations are underway for a motorcade that will bring the 24-year-old pretty “General” around the city’s streets. “General” is a term used to identify a certain resident of the city.

Gonzales said Supsup will be paraded in the city streets to let the residents show their gratitude and for them to see their new treasure.

“She brought glory and honor to General Santos City. She is worthy of emulation. She deserves to be honored,” Gonzales told The STAR in a phone interview.

“Our city is really a ‘home of champions.’”

Gonzales was referring to boxing champions Manny Pacquiao and Nonito Donaire, ABS-CBN’s Pinoy Big Brother winners Gerald Anderson and Melai Cantiveros.

Gonzales said the city government is seriously considering to grant the “Ambassadress of General Santos City” title to Supsup.

KC Concepcion Not Ready for Marriage

MAY blessing pala kina Sharon Cuneta at Sen. Francis ‘Kiko’ Pangilinan si KC Concepcion to live independently.

“I moved out na po, Finally, after three years of being home, I was able to move out. Parang mas mage-gain ko na po ‘yung independence ko and totoo pong ganoon. Mas nakikilala mo ang sarili mo when you’re seperated from your comfort zone,” paliwanag ni KC sa kanyang birthday presscon.

Kailan naman kaya niya balak magpapagawa ng sariling bahay?

“Later on na po, kapag mayroon na akong partner at saka kapag may plans na akong mag-settle-down. Du’n palang ako magbi-build ng house,” sagot ng dalaga ni Mega Sharon.

Ano naman ang naging reaksiyon ni Mama Sharon that KC is living indepedently?

“Na-over stay nga ako ng three 3 years. Parang feeling ko at the end of the day, my mom was ready kahit papaano. Kasi, she also wants to convert ‘yung parang place ko sa Wack Wack to a studio or baking kitchen. It was funny, kasi, at least my blessing. People can always say things. Before, in Paris may mga pictures pa silang nilabas na parang may party, ganyan. Hindi nila alam, it was a surprise party for me, mga friends ko sa theater. People can always say what they want, but I know that I am living a good life alone in my condo and I feel that living alone will make me more responsible. Officially, two months pa lang po akong nakatira sa condo ko.”

Nakaplano ba na you really want to live alone?

“I think it’s the most natural choice because it’s hard to live alone on your own and have your system of doing things, like ‘yung sa kama, parang ‘yung mga bedsheet ko. Gusto ko, personal preference hanggang tatlong kulay lang. Ayaw ko ‘yung maraming kulay sa kama, kasi I want to wake up na organize ‘yung utak ko. Kasi, ‘yung chairs ko iba-iba, very athletic.”

Ilang years pa ang hihintayin ni KC bago lumagay sa tahimik with Piolo Pascual?

“For me, nag-i-enjoy pa ako. Funny, when we met with clients for our endorsement, one of their questions was that. We just want to know lang, are you planning to get married anytime now? Tapos, natawa po talaga ako, I’m not ready to answer that. For me, it’s really no! I’m still growing, enjoy na ganito lang po. Feeling ko wala pa naman si Piolo sa part na ‘yun.”

Naikuwento ni KC na kama pala ang iniregalo ni Papa P sa kanya nu’ng lumipat siya sa bago niyang condo unit. Sa status ngayon ni PJ puwede na siyang mag-settle-down since he’s 34 and KC is 21.

“Ang lalaki naman po parang wine, they get better with age. Crush ko pa nga si Richard Gere noong 21 ako. Ang lolo ko, Pablo Cuneta, 60’s na siya noong naging anak niya si Mama, look what happened, she became a Megastar. I think naman nasa girl ‘yun.”

Ano naman ang contribution ni Gabby Concepcion sa pagiging independent ni KC?

“Pinipilit namin ‘yung time na mag-bonding kami. There are things na hindi pa ako comfortable na i-open up na ganu’n-ganu’n lang. We have to spend a lot of time para mag-usap kami ng malalim. Kasi, matagal kaming naghiwalay, nag-uusap kami katuwaan, books lang mga ganu’n. I hope you understand,” seryosong paliwanag KC.

Kim Chiu in Binondo Girl

After the story conference of Binondo Girl last April 7, Kim Chiu admitted that she feels a little pressured because it’s her first time to do a full-length soap without her perennial leading man Gerald Anderson. “Yun nga yung challenge para sa akin. Lahat ng series ko kasama ko si Gerald. So ngayon kakaibang teleserye naman ang Binondo Girl. Lahat naman ng project may pressure, hindi naman kampante dapat, nakakadagdag ding motivation ang pressure. And kampante naman ako dito sa project na ito at sigurado ako sa sarili ko na kakayanin ko.”

Kim was also thrilled because she was given not just one but three of the most promising actors in ABS-CBN as her ka-love team including Matteo Guidicelli, Jolo Revilla, and Xian Lim. When asked to describe each of her new partners, the pretty actress revealed that she was quite impressed with Jolo’s chivalrous attitude. “Si Jolo, hindi ko pa siya nakakasama sa previous projects ko. Ang impression ko sa kanya, tahimik pa lang siya ngayon, pero siguro makakasundo ko siya kasi sobrang gentleman niya. Siya ang pinakagentleman sa kanila. Talagang magpu-pull [out] pa siya ng chair for me. Sabi ko nga, ‘Ay ano ba ‘yan Jolo.’”

As for the other two, Kim said that it would be easier to build chemistry with them since she had already worked with Matteo and Xian in her previous projects. “Si Xian nakasama ko na sa Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin at sa Your Song Presents My Only Hope dati. Okay naman siya, nakakatawa, minsan nagha-hang out din kami. Hindi mo alam sobrang brusko niyan pero kengkoy din. Nakikipaglaro pa nga sa amin ‘yan ng charades. Si Matteo nakakasama ko din siya, nakakatawa.”

But is it true that Gerald will make a special appearance in Binondo Girl? “Hindi ko po alam. Wala pong sinasabi sa akin na ganun. Basta ako, masaya ako sa binigay na proyekto sa akin. Sisiguraduhin ko na mamahalin ko ang trabaho ko.”

Luis Manzano says it is not yet final if he will be part of Alta

Luis Manzano feels proud that he is doing a significant project like Pilipinas Got Talent, which he says is good medium to showcase world-class Filipino talents. “Very, very happy na Pilipinas Got Talent ang most viewed weekend program,” Luis admitted in a recent interview. “So that means we’re doing something very, very right, at the same time ang LOL (Laugh Out Loud), nagugulat kami sa taas ng ratings so, so far, everything is falling into place.”

He also pointed out that these shows put the highlight on other people and not just on him. “The good thing about sa shows ko kasi they don’t revolve around us, which makes me happier pa nga kasi umiikot sa talent ng mga Pilipino at sa lahat-lahat, hindi ‘yung Luis Manzano na umaarte lang o kung ano pa man.” He added that he is grateful that people continue to support his projects. “We’re very happy na ganun ang pagtanggap ng tao, hindi lang sa akin pero sa lahat ng ginagawa namin. I’m very very thankful na no matter what I do, meron talagang sumusuporta sa ginagawa ko.” Apart of PGT and LOL, Luis is also one of the co-hosts of the entertainment talk-show Entertainment Live.

Coincidentally, all three shows fall on Saturday, which is why some have dubbed Saturday as Luis Manzano day. However, the actor-host justified that this is his time and that everyone gets the same chance. “Kaya nga sinasabi nila na when it rains, it pours. Bawat artista nagkakaroon ng ganyan so nagkataon lang,” he reasoned.

Most of all, the son of Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos and Edu Manzano is happy that he was able to make a niche for himself in showbiz, and takes pride that he worked hard to get where he is today. “Sabi ko naman kaya kong ipagmalaki, if there is one thing na kaya kong sabihin na taas noo, kung ano man meron ako ngayon, pinaghirapan ko naman. It wasn’t an easy ride and sa akin it wasn’t a free pass and what they say na porket anak ni ganito… kaya kong sabihin na mula nang magsimula ako bilang MYX VJ up to Kampanerang Kuba, alam kong pinaghirapan ko kung anuman meron ako.”

While all three of his current shows are hosting jobs, Luis said that there are still negotiations as to whether he will be part of the upcoming teleserye Alta. Celebrities confirmed to be part of the highly-anticipated teleserye include Gretchen Barretto, Angelica Panganiban, KC Concepcion, Sam Milby, and Zanjoe Marudo. “Nabasa ko ‘yan na-confirmed [na raw ako] to join the cast. May mga usapan regarding Alta pero sa akin ipe-present pa lang so wala pa akong alam sa takbo ng storya, wala pa akong alam sa kahit ano,” he explained. “Ang alam ko ipe-present pa lang sa akin so may chance na yes or no pero siyempre depende sa proyekto.” He continued that he would be honored to be included in a powerhouse cast and that he already misses doing a teleserye.

Luis said that he has worked with Gretchen for a commercial before, while he co-starred with Angelica in the teleserye Rounin. He became KC’s leading man in one of the episodes of the actress’s TV special, while he has worked with Sam and Zanjoe In Dyosa.

No gap between Kim and Erich

INAMIN ni Empress Shuck na bihira na lang daw silang nagkakasama ngayon ng mga kaibigan niyang sina Erich Gonzales, Kitkat, Kim Chiu at iba pa nilang kabarkada sa Chuirigogobashu. Ito ang tsika sa amin ni Empress nu’ng makasama namin sa patungong Cebu para sa ASAP Rocks last Sunday.

Nilinaw din ng dalaga ang matagal nang kumakalat na balitang may alitan daw sina Kim at Erich kaya nagkakawatak-watak na ang kanilang ng grupo. Obserbasyon ng ilang malalapit sa mga dalagang ito, may mga kanya-kanyang lakad na raw ngayon ang magkakabarkada kaya hindi na sila madalas nagkakasamang gumimik.

Say ni Empress, hindi totoong may problema silang magkakaibigan. Totoo na matagal na raw silang hindi lumalabas na kumpleto dahil busy sa kani-kanilang mga trabaho pero wala silang gap.

Si Empress daw, ang laging kasama ngayon ay si Erich, pero dahil nga pareho silang busy, sinisikap na lang daw ng isa sa kanila na makasunod sa venue ng kanilang gimik. Minsan daw ‘yung iba eh, hindi na rin nakakahabol pero naiintindihan din nila ito.

Miguel Villafuerte Interested with Sarah Geronimo

Nagkita kami kahapon ni Camarines Sur Governor LRay Villafuerte at siyempre, ang pagkakaugnay ng kanyang anak na si Miguel kay Sarah Geronimo ang inusisa ko sa kanya.

Ang sey ni Papa LRay, boto siya kay Sarah para sa kanyang anak dahil gusto niya ang pagmamahal na ipinakikita ng singer-actress sa pamilya nito.

Sayang nga dahil hindi kasama ni Papa LRay si Miguel dahil nasa Amerika ito kaya hindi ko na-meet ng personal ang bagets.

Ipinakita na lang sa akin ni Papa LRay ang mga litrato ni Miguel. Totoo ang tsismis, star material si Miguel na 5’9 ang height at mapag­kakamalan din na model dahil sa kanyang body built.

Ang aking bestfriend na si Pinky Tobiano ang nagpakilala sa akin sa mabait at masipag na gobernador ng CamSur.

Bagets-looking si Papa LRay as in hindi siya mukhang 42-years old. Si Papa LRay ang may kagagawan kaya nakilala sa buong mun­do ang CamSur na dinarayo ngayon ng mga turista.

Sa mga hindi nakakaalam, kinunan sa CamSur ang Survivor : France at Survivor : Siberia dahil sa kagandahan ng lugar.

Natawa ako sa kuwento ni Papa LRay tungkol sa crew ng Survivor : Siberia na nag-shoot sa Caramoan Island. Nakatanggap daw siya ng phone call mula sa mga Pinoy na nagbabantay sa shooting. Dis-oras na ng gabi ‘yun at natutulog na si Papa LRay.

Nagising daw siya sa walang tigil na pagtunog ng kanyang cell phone.

Ang mga Pinoy na nagbabantay sa shooting ang nasa kabilang linya. Natataranta sila dahil na-sight nila na naglalakad ng walang saplot sa katawan sa beach shore ang crew ng TV show.

Sanay sa skinny-dipping ang mga Siberian at wala siyang malisya sa paglalakad ng hubo’t hubad kaya naeskandalo ang mga Pilipino na naka-witness sa drama nila.

Nagkaroon ako ng interes na pumunta sa CamSur dahil sa magagandang kuwento na narinig ko.

World-class ang description ni Papa LRay sa probinsiya na kanyang nasasakupan at naniwala ako dahil popular nga sa mga turista ang CamSur.

Interesado ako na makarating sa CamSur at ito ang susunod na pag-uusapan namin ng aking bestfriend Pinky na kinikilig kapag pinag-uusapan sina Miguel at Sarah.

Dumating nga pala si Cesar Montano sa lunch date namin nina Pinky at Papa LRay. Matagal na palang magkakilala at magkaibigan sina Cesar at Papa LRay.

Tungkol sa business ang pinag-usapan nila pero hindi ko na ina­lam. Basta ang natatandaan ko, may ibang negosyo si Cesar na pinagkakaabalahan.

Hindi lamang sa pag-aartista umiikot ang kanyang mundo.

Angelica and Derek have split up, too?

It’s the season of break-ups.

Michelle Madrigal and Jon Hall have called it quits after more than a year-long romance due to “personal differences” that caused their frequent fights.

Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo, both unwed parents, broke up before they could celebrate their first anniversary this month.

According to conflicting reports, Dennis was unreasonably possessive, disapproved of Jennylyn’s being friendly again with ex-boyfriend Patrick Garcia (father of Jennylyn’s love son Alex Jazz) and hurled hurting words at Jennylyn during one of their fights.

Of course, Dennis’ manager Popoy Caritativo denied all that, saying that it was even Dennis who advised Jennylyn to make peace with Patrick so that she and Patrick could take turns caring for their child.

Reports also said that Jennylyn is hard to handle, very moody and not above hitting Dennis physically during their arguments, causing Dennis to push her and not really punch her.

The ending is that it’s now Popoy and Jennylyn’s manager Becky Aguila who are engaged in a word war in defense of their alagas. Funny, isn’t it? Dennis and Jennylyn haven’t actually said a single word and it’s their managers who are spewing fire at each other.

And now, there’s a “breaking news” in the Net that Derek Ramsay and Angelica Panganiban are also headed for splitsville, if they haven’t hit the rocks yet. Reason given is that Derek is involved with a girl from Dumaguete.

Contacted by Funfare Update for comment, Derek denied the report, saying that his relationship with Angelica is going strong. As Angelica tweeted, “Habang kami ay pinaghihiwalay, mas lalo kaming tumitibay.” Words to that effect.

“I did go to Dumaguete to recruit five kid volunteers to play in a Frisbee tournament,” said Derek. “While there, I was shown around by a group that included the girl who was reported to be my ‘girlfriend.’ Not true. I only met her there.”

The suspicion is that another girl has an axe to grind and invented the tsismis that the other girl was Derek’s girlfriend.

“Sorry to disappoint the writer of that ‘scoop’,” added Derek, “but Angelica and I are okey na okey.”
