Michael Advincula Joins Showbiz

Mula sa pagiging swimmer at team captain ng DLSU Tankers (DLSU-M Swimming Team), excited si Mike (Michael Advincula) sa finalis ng MYX VJ Hunt 2011. Yup, sumabak na ang manla­langoy ng DLSU sa showbiz.

“Joining the MYX VJ hunt is my first step siguro to try showbiz. Kung susuwertehin, baka ituloy ko na rin. Pero kung hindi naman, marami pa namang puwedeng gawin. So far, I’m enjoying it. Masaya pala ang showbiz. Ibang-iba sa paglalangoy. Ha-ha-ha!” kuwento ni Mike.

Inamin ng binata na hindi talaga niya inambisyong maging artista at pasukin ang showbiz noon hanggang dumating ang time na kinumbinse siya ng mga kaibigan na mag-audition sa MYX VJ hunt.

“Fascinated ako sa mga artista at ang taas ng tingin ko sa kanila. Parang astig sila na mahirap abutin. Hindi ako nababaduyan sa kanila. In fact, I admire them, kasi parang ang hirap ng ginagawa nila and yet parang simple lang para sa kanila.”

Si Toni Gonzaga ang showbiz crush ni Mike. Gusto kasi niya ang babaing malakas ang sense of humor at kaya siyang patawanin.

“Crush lang naman, eh! Pinapanood ko ang mga movies niya. Kaya lang, taken na siya. Pero okey lang. Basta I just want her to know na crush ko siya talaga,” natatawang hirit ng binata.

Graduate ng La Salle si Mike at ngayon ay nagma-masters na siya.

Kuwento pa ni Mike dati siyang dambuhala as in puwede sa Pinoy Big Loser – sa edad na 11, 200 lbs na siya. Four years ago nang pumayat siya nang husto.

Sa July 27 na gaganapin ang finals night ng MYX VJ Hunt sa The Block, SM North Edsa. Marami ang nag-i-expect na mananalo si Mike.

Taxi driver gets kiss, hug from Ruffa

What can a taxi driver get for being honest? A kiss and a hug from Ruffa Gutierrez!

Gutierrez gave taxi driver Ariel Dalangin a kiss and a hug as a show of gratitude for returning her six pairs of expensive custom-made shoes.

Dalangin returned the six pair of shoes, worth at least US$4,000 or at least P172,000, to the actress on radio dzMM's program Aksyon Ngayon, which is hosted by Kaye Dacer and Manila Mayor Fred Lim.

The expensive shoes were left by Gutierrez's personal aide Jimmy in Dalangin's taxi recently.

According to Jimmy, who also witnessed the turnover of the shoes to Gutierrez, he hailed Dalangin's taxi in Greenhills, San Juan City. He said he was supposed to bring the shoes to Gutierrez, who has a shoot in Pasong Tamo, Makati City.

Arriving at the shooting venue, Jimmy said he totally forgot the shoes as he was talking to a cousin about his ailing mother over the phone.

Jimmy, who also expressed his gratitude to the taxi driver, said during an interview over dzMM that he thought of selling his family's land property to be able to pay for the shoes that he lost.

Dalangin, for his part, said that he got mad because when Jimmy got off his taxi, he saw that Gutierrez's assistant left some trash. As he checked the rest of the backseat, he saw several plastic bags, which he first thought as grocery bags.

The taxi driver said that he was surprised to see expensive-looking shoes.

Dalangin said he went home and asked his wife to bring the shoes to radio dzMM. The missing shoes were immediately announced over Aksyon Ngayon program by its hosts.

Dacer said during the program that the show immediately received several calls from concerned citizens, informing them that the shoes belong to Gutierrez.

Gutierrez explained that a lot of people knew that her shoes were missing because she announced it on Twitter on Monday.

The actress was informed by the radio program yesterday that her expensive shoes have been found.

As soon as she met Dalangin, Gutierrez announced on her Twitter account: "With Mr. Ariel, the good samaritan from Margel Taxi who returned my 6pairs of shoes left in his cab."

Gutierrez handed over a gift to the taxi driver. She also announced that she will fulfil her Twitter promise that she will hug and kiss the person who will return her shoes.

Break Down Music Video - Kim Hyun Joong (video)

From the famous Korean boy band SS501, one of Asia’s pop stars Kim Hyun Joong is back on stage and now with his first solo mini album Break Down.

Kim Hyun Joong displays a different persona compared to his SS501 days. Hyun Joong has taken the most generic route out of all the SS501 member’s solo activities: typical synthesizer instrumentals, heavy beats and catchy choruses as well as bubblegum pop.

Kim Hyun Joon’s completed his tour both in the U.S. and South Korea and later on, hit back the studio and recorded this mini-album with album producer Steven Lee.

Together with Japanese group, V6 and KAT-TUN’s producer Steven Lee, Kim Hyun Joong involved himself in the album-making just to reveal more of himself as a solo artist. Break Down boasts a total of six songs, with one instrumental version of the title track.

The title track ‘Break Down’ is a powerful synthesized song with an urban style which features a stylish rapping of South Korea’s Double K; and Ken Lewis, as the single’s producer. Ken Lewis is the producer of Eminem, Kanye West, Usher and John Legend. The music video for ‘Break Down’ was simultaneously released with the single’s digital release.

Marking his comeback to the music scene, the album also boasts the previously released single “Please” in which Kim Hyun Joong portrayed a different and mature image in his music video. Other album highlights include ‘Intro (Let Me Go)’ where Kim Hyun Joong opens with a magnificent pipe organ melody. Also in the album is the song ‘Kiss Kiss’ another pop/ dance song but accompanied with an acoustic guitar and dance-y beat ‘Yes I Will.’

Aside from the Philippines, Break Down will also be released in South Korea, Mainland China, Taiwan, Hongkong, Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia.

Kim Hyun Joong is the leader of popular boyband SS501 and a prominent style icon in Korea. He has won awards and have gained his popularity among the South East Asian countires for his role as Ji Hoo in the 2009 hit drama series Boys Over Flowers over ABS-CBN. He is now known worldwide as Baek Seung Jo/Gelo in the hit series drama Playful Kiss which is now being aired by GMA-7.

PGT Season 3 Coming Soon

ABS-CBN does a back-to-back season of Pilipinas Got Talent, a first for the worldwide franchise.

Following the victory of Marcelito Pomoy two weeks ago, the reality show once again visited different parts of Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao to discover more exciting acts.

This season, Pilipinas Got Talent visited more than 40 provinces and witnessed thousands of Filipinos giving their best at the auditions.

Judges Kris Aquino and Freddie “FMG” Garcia expressed their thoughts and expectations as they do the tedious job of judging all these acts for the third time.

“PGT went the extra mile in season two because we have been to many places. In season three, we will triple the number of places we will go to scout for talents. That’s what I’m really looking for in Season 3 that in every part of the country, we’ve got talent,” said Kris.

“I am happy with the outcome of season two as we really found somebody who is realty amazing in the person of Marcelito. In season three, I hope our grand winners will give inspiration to people who’s got talent to come forward and really show what they can do for our country,” shared FMG.
